It's my first time visiting WDW as an adult and we're spending a few nights in a 1 bedroom at Beach Club Villas in January 2024. Assuming all of the rooms are renovated by then, do you recommend making a specific room request? A great view would be nice, but none of us are heavy sleepers, so our top priority would be a quiet room.

Thanks for your help.

Well at BCV there are no great views and the best views are pool and facing fireworks so both of those are not quiet. I would just ask for an upper floor.

We always just request highest floor.

The last couple of times I have checked in online for the beach club, The only room
Request available was near elevator. I’m hoping the fix this for future trips.

Online request options have been decreasing, not increasing. I believe they really want you to chat/email/call MS to place requests and won't be surprised if request options disappear entirely from online checkin.

Yup. I used the chat to request highest floor for our upcoming trip. It makes no sense to waste a cm’s time when they can easily add it to the drop down menu. We all know requests are not guaranteed but you would think that they would want to put people where they want to be.

Yes, we use chat a lot. I've also done it through email. We've been about 50-50 with our requests at BCV over the years. I expect they would love to put everyone in a room location they request - but I understand how that's not going to be possible much of the time, especially at BCV where there are fewer rooms than many DVC locations. I had an opportunity to speak with someone who had assigned rooms for Disney resorts, and he equated it to a big, complicated game of Tetris, trying to review the requests and match them with available rooms!

OP - yes, I believe the renovations should all be done by then. I also agree if you're light sleepers, request a room on the top floor away from the elevators. How quiet your room is often depends on your neighbors for the stay. On the top floor, at least we eliminate neighbors above you!

Sometimes I wonder whether they want to make it inconvenient to submit requests, to make it easier on the room assigners and the front desk CMs. Some folks don’t seem to understand what “not guaranteed” means.
