Beach Club Villas Renovation

Hello All ~
I was hoping to hear an update on the construction going on in the BC villas. We were there in April (we were staying at the BW at the time, but walked over to see how the renovations were coming @ Beach Club Villas) - it was looking good and there seemed to be some completed room

Anyone have any updated info or any additional details on the finish date? (I heard "by the end of summer" but I'm hoping we can nail down something more specific)

We just got back from BCV last week and were in a renovated room on the 4th floor. It looked like they had one wing completed and I had read that they did all the floors on one wing before moving to the next (instead of one floor at a time). While we were there, they took down the construction walls on one section and it looked like another wing was completed, although I don't know if they were filling those rooms yet.

As an aside, the renovated rooms and common areas are gorgeous! I had read that people had mixed opinions but we loved it. Especially in the hallways when you can see the old carpet and colors compared to the new, there is a world of difference. The new colors in the hallway are blue on the top and a textured sand color on the bottom, for a very upscale beach theme. The decor in the villas is beautiful and the wood floors are really nice. I do agree with people who thought it might not hold up that well. There were already a few scuff marks in the floor, but maybe they can be easily buffed out.

We returned last week as well. Also in a renovated room on the 5th floor and loved it. On the 5th floor two wings were complete and people were staying in both sections. Definitely moving along quickly. We also didn't hear or see any construction while we were there for 8 days.

I can't wait to see the rooms in person in December. These villas were long overdue for refurbishment.

I really wish I did! We did a split stay and had checked out of AKV and spent the day at Epcot in between. DH went to the room first with our younger kids to put them to bed, and they had made themselves quite at home by the time I could take any pictures.

I did see some pictures on the Beach Club thread on the resort board but honestly, I think the rooms look much better in person. I wasn't sure I would like them from the pictures but I thought they were beautiful!

It's about time!!!!! Love the Beach Club but the rooms have looked tired and worn for awhile. They should never let it go so long to refurbish. Can't wait to see new rooms

Had newly done 2 bedroom dedicated with 2 queen beds early this month. Whatever we get for our July trip, I'm fine with it. The new furnishings are very nice, or I would be OK with seeing the old stuff once more. I love, love BCV!

I'm sorry I didn't think to take pictures either! They are definitely a big upgrade to the BCV though I will tell you that much. Also, make sure to go and try the new ice cream place Ample Hills on the Boardwalk while you were there. We LOVED it!!

EXCITED to see the renovation in October. LOVE ice cream, so Ample Hills is a must do for us!

For anyone who has stayed in a renovated room, did they replace the mattresses? The last time I stayed in a studio there a few years ago the mattresses were rock hard. So bad that my hips and back were hurting.
