Hi all,

well this time last week we were just leaving the Magic Kingdom on our way up to Sanford and now... we're already planning for next year. We are hoping to rent points for a DVC stay (which will also be the first time any of us have ever stayed on Disney property!) We will be a group of 4 or 5 adults - me (21), Scott (early thirties), his parents (early fifties) and possibly an old buddy of Scott's of about the same age as him. We're all Disney veterans so we know how to get around the place etc.

After having a look around some of the resorts last week and reading up about the accomodations, me and Scott are now very interested in the Beach Club Villas (we originally liked the Boardwalk but have been swayed by Stormalong Bay!) I'd like everyone's opinions on the resort please, including those who have stayed in the hotel section as I know the facilities are the same. We're all big EPCOT lovers so the proximity is a major factor for us as well (me and Scott walked over from EPCOT last week, it's a lovely walk) - how do you find getting to the other parks/Downtown Disney? Is it at all noisy at night? The resort we just stayed at had karaoke going until well past 11pm every night and loud music kicking off from 7am which ruined the whole atmosphere.

Basically any and all opinions are welcome, good and bad to help us decide if this is the right place for us on our first on propert trip. Cheers!

Hi Queenie,

We stayed in Beach Club Villas last year and it was lovely :sunny: so much so that we tried to swap out our Boardwalk villas accomodation for this year with another stay there instead, alas this was not to be but I can't be too upsaet as the Boardwalk is still lovely :goodvibes

There are probaby two main reasons that we wanted to swap this year. Firstly it is beacuase the Beach Club is a lot more quiet and secluded than the Boardwalk which would have been ideal when trying to get Jospeh to go down to sleep at night. Secondly it would have been for Stormalong Bay, which is generally a much better pool/bathing experience for an infant. :)

Hi! :wave2: DD23 and I stayed in the Beach Club (hotel) in May 05 and loved it. So much so, we're staying at Yacht Club Oct 06 - OK it's a different resort but we still get to take advantage of the facilities. ;) Stormalong Bay is lovely - the lazy river ride's a lot of fun and there always seems to be plenty of sunbeds. We love EPCOT too and that walk to the World Showcase is one of our fave things. We didn't find it noisy at all - tho' TBH I've never found that to be a problem at any Disney resort. As far as getting to other parks, the only real trek is to Magic Kingdom (tho' you could walk thro' EPCOT and get the Monorail to the TTC) as there's a boat to MGM and AK isn't too far on the bus. HTH... :sunny:

We own at BCV and love it there. We find it relatively quiet, the proximity to Epcot is fantastic with all the dining opportunities both there, at the hotel and at the Boardwalk and there really isn't anything negative I can say.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Stormalong Bay, preferring the quiet pool at the BCV, but if you like Stormalong Bay, that surely must be a great incentive.

We found getting to other parks and DTD not a problem and the bonus for us has been watching the fireworks from both Epcot and MK from our balcony.

we have stayed in the hotel once

This is my favourite Disney resort

This is going to sound strange, and I am probably wrong here as we are not DVC owners and have never stayed at BCV.
However, when we stayed at BWV in August we did have a look around the Beach Club and (maybe just the timing) but we actually thought the opposite of what others have said and it seemed a much livelier resort, and much more suited to young people (like us  ) than BWV.

Stormalong Bay was very busy, and inside there were many people walking around or buying souvenirs etc, whereas generally we found BWV to be much quieter overall.

BCV would probably be our 1st choice if we stayed at a DVC resort again, the location means you can also enjoy the Boardwalk too - only one thing I would say, having driven around the back of the resort I am not sure whether the view would be anything special if you were located in this part , but possibly that's not a real issue here....

I would agree that the Beach Club is generally more lively than the Boardwalk during the day, but I find that once the sun sets the Boardwalk does become very upbeat and can be quite noisy throughout the evening until all the bars have closed and everyone who is slightly the worse for wear has gone home. This is especially the case if you have a villa overlooking the boardwalk, which until this year we have always chosen.

The advantage the BCV have is that the villas are in a queit corner of the resort so even if all hell is breaking loose in the main complex it is still nice and quiet in your room.

I am not sure what the rooms with a pool view at the BWV are like for noise during the evening but we will find out in 13 days I guess

Fair enough, I would agree at night BWV is very lively indeed - especially the ESPN Sports Bar (which I thought was paradise). :)

I'd agree with Johnny. We stayed at the BWV this summer and found it very quiet. Our room overlooked the main pool but we were on 4th floor so you couldn't really hear any noise from the pool.

I can well imagine that it would be noisy in a Boardwalk room but we had no problems where we were. I liked the resort and it was lovely to walk down to the Boardwalk Bakery in the morning for something nice to take back to the room.

We might try and give the BCV a go this summer just because the kids want to try Stormalong Bay although It always seems very busy when ever we have seen it.

I've stayed at both the BWV (our home resort) and BCV. I have to say that I've never found the Boardwalk to be particularly noisy, even with a Boardwalk view room, but BCV is definitely much quieter. I think Alan is right, the Villas are in a quiet location and always seem peaceful. The quiet pool at BCV was one of my favourite places.

Absolutely. We found it very peaceful and really loved the BCV quiet pool.
