Beach Club pool entry question

Day guest pass/room key might be a way around the $25/night fee of adding them to your room.. but, I think you are overthinking this a little probably.. yes, Stormalong Bay has the strictest pool access policy on property.. but you’re spending +\- $3000/night for you’re suite while other guests are paying as little as $522/night for standard rooms. I don’t think it’s a matter of pulling rank, you’re definitely paying for the accommodations and I’m sure concierge will be more than eager to accommodate any of your requests within reason. Consider that price tag would command a 24/7 butler service at most any resort outside of Disney World. Just saying, not everyone can afford it/is willing to pay it, so no shame in getting your money worth.

I love this! Thank you so much for saying it!

Regardless of it being a suite, they are going to charge you for every additional adult over 2 in the room. But I would add them anyway, because that is the only proper way to allow them pool access.

Also, it's not up to the hotel management, the club level hosts, etc. This is a call that can only be made by the lifeguard on duty at the time you come into the pool. The lifeguards have the final say on whether they will allow non guests or not, so personally I would not count on the word of anyone in any other position. Add them to the reservation, get them a room key, and then they can join you.

Actually, I don't think that's accurate but I'll let you know tomorrow.

Once the SwanDolphin completes their new aquatic complex everyone will want to be there, I'm sure at the time they will begin checking to make sure that is for paying guests only. Until then be courteous and they probably won't care or notice if you go enjoy the Grotto pool.

Well here’s a twist:

My travel agent told me today that yes you can get a day pass at Beach Club…but it does NOT cover the pool!!!

Only resort on campus where that applies.

Huh.

Actually the answer I expected
It's also the only resort that DVC can't pool hop, last I heard
Storm A Long Bay is the "only" for a lot of things

So try to add them to a night if you can. That removes all worries about day pass issues. Overnight guests get it all. No rules that they have to physically sleep there. Now, if you have a package it may not work but will for room only, I think.

Actually it’s not just SAB that isn’t eligible for DVC pool hopping privileges (which BTW is still suspended at all resorts since reopening).

  • Pool hopping is not available at the following pools at any time—with no exceptions to this policy:
    • Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort – Bay Cove Pool
    • Disney's Art of Animation Resort – pools
    • Disney’s Beach Club Villas – leisure pool
    • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – pools
    • Disney's Polynesian Village Resort – The Lava Pool and leisure pool
    • Disney's Riviera Resort - Riviera Pool and Beau Soleil Pool
    • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Boulder Ridge Cove Pool and The Copper Creek Springs Pool
    • Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort – Stormalong Bay

That’s the plan!

Yes, that was the list prepandemic. IMHO, pool hopping probably won’t come back.

The good news, however, is that since we have a two bedroom suite we can add them onto our registration for free- which frankly is a little weird but whatever.

You don’t necessarily need to add “them” to your reservation, or they don’t necessarily need to know they are added to the reservation or have a room key.. you just need to have two extra names on the reservation, all you need is a first and last name. You could add the names John and Jane Smith and it wouldnt make any difference, there’s no need for them to be present at check in or provide any proof of ID as secondary guests.

When you enter the pool area for the first time that day the attendant will scan only one room key/magic band. This shows them how many people are on your room reservation which is a cap on how many wrist bands they will give you. So if you and walk up with you spouse and two friends and scan just your room key/ magic band they will give wrist bands to the four of you without question (as long as there are at least four guests on your room reservation). After your friends have the wrist bands they will be good to come and go for the remainder of that day.

I asked the Lifeguards about the possibility of letting myself and another grand into SAB to help our daughter with our granddaughter who is disabled when we all visit in Oct - they said check with Guest Services - if it’s not too crowded they have been known to issue passes.

At SAB, each guest must have their own magic band/ key card with them to enter the pool. They often do scan each guest, not just one. Maybe they won’t scan each kid, but adults are often each scanned. There have been several reports of guests having to go back to the room to get someone’s band before they are allowed in.

But why do all that when you can add the actual people? Then you are doing everything as you should. Makes zero sense to add fake people vs real people when you can legally add the people you need. Guess I don't understand this suggestion

During the height of COVID restrictions and pool capacity, they scanned each magic band in our party before issuing our wristbands at SAB. They scanned each adult and then even the children.
