I would have to call someone to see what is happening. When are you checking in?

Is this for only the beach club, or are the villas also affected? I know there are refurbs going on. We are booked there next month in the villas and booked it for SAB because it's a resort stay, so no park tickets. I'll be watching this.

Spoke with Disney rep told it was animal kingdom or nothing , rep was rude and could not get a supervisor until today waiting for a call back

Oh no no no.... call back and DEMAND to speak to someone in guest relations and if one person can't help, you ask for someone else and keep going until you find someone that will help you and while you're on the phone make sure you let them know just how rude the previous CM was to you. Unacceptable!!!

Exactly. It cost too much for terrible service.

The terms and conditions are such that if they have to move you, they can, or you can cancel without penalty. A booking doesn't even truly guarantee you anything but a room somewhere on campus.

So you may be stuck. But you can probably get help with reservations and plans.

Refurbishment of the guest rooms at the Yacht Club is supposedly starting the end of October, 2016, after being delayed a few times. The YC has many attendees of conferences and conventions, due to the on site Convention Center. Conventions and conferences are booked more than one year in advance, and Disney commits blocks of rooms at the YC for those events.

Since there will be rooms taken out of the inventory, due to the YC construction, Disney is probably moving some groups over to the BC, so that the attendees will still be in close proximity to the Convention Center.

As far as priority status, individual guests are, most likely, on the low end, under these circumstances.

How sad.

The refurbishment of the Beach Club Villas is supposed to be finished. The villas would not be affected since most of the units are DVC and on a separate system.

We were one of the guests who had a BC reservation in December and received an offer from our travel agent of a free upgrade to the Grand Floridian due to overbooking at the BC. We accepted the offer while other people did not. Now I'm glad that we agreed to move. I would hate to be forced into another resort.

If you cannot get any satisfaction and want to stay at an EPCOT resort, the Swan and Dolphin may have availability. They still have the bus transportation and ferry boats to the parks, and are within walking distance to EPCOT and HS.

The major differences between those resorts and Disney-owned properties are that you can't use ME to/from the airport, there is no resort airline check-in and bag check, there is a daily resort fee, and a charge for parking a car, if you have one. It will probably still be less expensive than the BC, though.

The Swan's rooms were just completely redone and are very nice; the Dolphin is in the process of refurbing their rooms.

There are very nice pool areas (though not like Stormalong Bay).

Hopefully, a supervisor can reinstate your original reservation. If that's impossible, and they can't come up with another satisfactory option, you might want to look at Swan/Dolphin.

This must be frustrating, with so much of your planning being disrupted.

I guess, all you can do is keep trying. It's not great service to book 6 months ago and then not get what you paid for.
But it is in the small print, BUT, IF you are prepared to walk away, you *might* be able to negotiate, Ask to speak to the most senior person you can find I guess.

I hope this issue is resolved to your satisfaction. I have a reservation at the Beach Club for late October and will be cancelling my trip if my reservation is not honored. I made my reservation in January and selected the Beach Club so I could walk back and forth to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.

Please let us know how this is resolved.

Just a suggestion, if your willing to take AKL or another hotel it's possible they will offer other compensation, extra FP+, club level, etc.

It's horrible customer service but it is in the fine print(I would be pissed), so see if you can work out other extras to make up for the change, just a thought.

If there are no rooms at BC, you won't be able to get BC. But you should be able to move somewhere in the Epcot area. If they are moving you to accommodate a convention, they might have a little bit of leeway, but the convention will take precendence.

same thing happened to me last year but I didnt find out till I arrived and it took them 3 hours to find us a room. I paid for beach club club level and settled for yacht club non club room with club level access. We were in one of the farther rooms from the lounge, my only request was to have a room close to the lounge. Be ready for anything! That was my first trip to disney, learned a huge lesson.
