We transferred to the BC Concierge from the AKL Concierge and things could not have been smoother. Once we hit the Epcot area we felt like our Disney Vacation really began. The service in the Concierge lounge was excellent (especially DJ) and the snacks were basic but very good. The Concierge cast members helped to arrange a last minute massage for me and when our Illuminations specialty cruise was rained out they got me on the waiting list for another day - which also came through but we weren't in our room to accept :(.

We were booked in a lagoon view and this was the only negative thing we had to say. The trees have grown up so high around your windows that there really is no view.

Also a final thumbs up to the bus man we had. His name was Arneil and he was hilarious and very helpful.

Any questions just ask.

I have to agree about the trees. When we checked in we were given 5667. Got to the room and went on the balcony and could see anything but trees! I literally could see nothing but a small (very small) spot of water through the trees. I went directly back to concierge and asked if this is really considered a lagoon view and was told yes and asked if we wished to move. I said yes and they promptly moved us father down to 5687 (which is what I had requested). The view from 5687 was fantastic.

The CM at concierge said they are trying to keep everyone on the wing adjacent to the lounge. The far end (rooms 5700+) were virtually empty. I think they are keeping people near the lounge as occupancy is low and the farther rooms are closer to construction going on at Stormalong Bay.

I am glad they moved you. We really should have tried too. Next time we definitely will since it worked so well for you.

That is great that you enjoyed your stay at BC concierge so much! I agree that the CM's are so nice and accomodating. They share a staff with the YC concierge, si I know that they are all wonderful!!! :)

12 days til 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Disney Magic! :D

We also just returned from BC concierge. DJ, in the evening, was the absoulete best person up there. He was extremely outgoing and remembered everyone's name, where they were from, etc. Our room was just Ok, I believe the BC really needs the major rehab it will be getting in the fall. I would not recommend our room, 5705, it was extremely small and only had two full size beds, not queens. Our view was nice, looked right at the slide at SAB but otherwise it was nothing great. The floor was almost completely empty last week, Sunday of labor day there was no one on either side of us or across the hall. Actually, I was told only the rooms facing the lagoon were occupied and judging by the number of newspapers outside doors in the morning, I would say that was true.

So many things have to be rehabed at the BC, from elevators to rugs, furnishings etc. Also, the balcony's aren't being taken care of properly either, our balcony was downright dirty, esp the overhead area, loaded with dead bugs, etc.

Honestly, we enjoyed staying on the floor but would never pay rack rates for these rooms. $600 a night, definitely not worth it. AP discounts made it reasonable but otherwise I would never do it.

We felt the food offerings were adequate but nothing spectacular, nothing was actually "hot" in the evening. The offerings were corndogs,pb&j sandwiches, cheese and crackers, veggies, etc. Breakfast is the only thing they do good, but then fruit and cereal is what we eat for breakfast, a egg and bacon person would still want to eat out. I enjoyed having coffee available all day but then again, it is the Nescafe instant stuff they have park wide now and not "real" coffee. One night when we returned after the fireworks there was a sign that said "In order to maintain our high standards of quality, please ask our attendents for fresh coffee" So I asked for a decaf and was told it was instant, etc. Why put up the sign? I really hate the Nescafe stuff they throw at us these days in WDW. I wouldn't serve a guest in my home instant coffee, I think it is downright tacky to serve instant in any restaurant in WDW.

I don't beleive anyone else has ever mentioned this but Art, the greeter, was up in concierge one night working in the room. It was amazing how different his personality was up there. He barely said a word to anyone but then his duties up in the lounge there are different then his duties in the lobby.

We were at BC concierge from 8/29 - 9/2. It is cool that with so few people there three of us at DIS were there at the same time. We probably saw each other in the lounge and didn't even know it.

We were there with our 2 boys (10 and 3). We usually had a blue stroller with us for the 3 yr old as he got tired of walking.

DJ was great - Disney could not ask for a better cast member.

As for the coffee, I found if I put enough Frangelico in it in the evening I didn't mind the taste!

Gee, I wonder what each of us paid for identical rooms? We were able to get a nice discount but I wonder if either of you did better. It like the commercial with the two guys sharing a cab and comparing how much they paid for their hotel.

We also used the AP discount. It is the only way to go with Concierge. I agree it would not be worth the rack rates.

We probably did run into each other then. We moved over on the 30th from the AKL. We also checked out on 9/2. It was just me and my DH. Were you there during the power outage? I am just glad I had finished my hair that night as we had V&A reservations. I agree DJ was the best. Of course he has a daughter named Riley (just like me) so I am biased.

Now I am starting to worry that I've made a mistake...
I have never stayed in Concierge Level before and two days ago I booked BC Concierge for a one night stay before moving to the BWV's for the next 3nights.
I booked BC because a few of my friends that are joining me for my Disney Birthday Celebration are staying in the new Beach Club Villa's for the 1st night and I thought that being in the BC Concierge would be closer to the Villas than the YC Concierge.
Do you all think I should switch over to the newly refurbed YC rooms or stick with the BC?
AND yes, getting those AP rates are great! That's the only way I could ever do it...I'm sure it's going to spoil me!! ;)

Don't worry about BC. Although the rooms might need some touch up, it is just normal wear and tear. Our rrom at AKL was nicer but it was also MUCH newer. The concierge lounge was always well taken care off, especially when DJ was there in the afternoon and evening. Housekeeping was also fine. They left us little towel bunnies and elephants on faucets and towel racks.

I would consider putting in a request for an unobstructed lagoon view and 2 queen beds if that is what you want. You might even consider calling concierge a few days in advance to discuss your request.

Thanks, I think I'll wait awhile and call them. I also think with the YC Concierge just refurbed that the BC Concierge won't be that crowded and we can almost pick our room! Yeah right....Wishful thinking huh??!! ;)
I asked the CM on the phone the other day if my other 2 friends (the ones that are staying at the Villas) could come up and visit us, and she said "that would be no problem"...But you know, what one CM says another may not!
But they may come and visit me...That shouldn't cause a stir....should it?
Or are Concierge guests the only ones allowed up on the 5th floor?...I'm sure my Dis pal..minster22, wants to check out the Concierge floor, for a possible stay on her next visit to the world.

I'm sure they can come and visit you. The problem is the 5th floor (concierge floor) has limited access. You need to use your room key to gain access to the 5th floor from the elevator. I'm not sure if stairs would work. They could always call you and you could go down and get them.
