Or rather, convince DH!

I was unaware of the new rules regarding changing dates when I booked our BC stay. Now we have to choose something else, which is a total bummer.

All that is left at BC for our dates is club level. I know there are a lot of threads out there regarding what is included w/club level, but I just need a little push. DH is platinum at so many hotel brands (Marriott, Hyatt, Starwood...) and is accustomed to a high level of service with concierge level stays. What can help me push him over the edge? Are beer and wine complimentary? (Can a glass of wine be taken back to the room?)

Anything else I can mention to him? I don't need his permission to book it, but I would like for him to feel that his input is valued.

Thanks!

VP

Yes, beer and wine are available in the afternoons and evenings. You most certainly can take it to go. (I've been known to take my wine in a Disney coffee cup down to the pool with me). We like having breakfast available to us before hitting the parks in the morning(it's usually bagels, rolls, cereal, yogurt, fruit). It probably won't be on par with what your husband has come to expect, but it's certainly not a bad addition to any Disney trip. I hope it works out for you both!

You should probably read (or skim it since it's so long) this:

http://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-club-level-cl-information-and-questions.3414590/

There are many lovely people on that thread that will help you create a list for your husband. The Beach Club location can't be beat so I hope you can pull it off. If not did you check Yacht Club for a standard room.

I agree with this. Check to see if there are any non-CL rooms available at YC. You are essentially in the same resort (same amenities, etc.) just different theming and a little further from EP. You do, however, get a full balcony. I'm not a big fan of CL as the staff does nothing I can't do myself and the food offerings are not worth the cost IMHO (I can get my own groceries, alcohol, etc. for our room). You may also want to look into a studio at BCV if they are available or even a room or villa at BWI/BWV. I'm sorry I can't help with convincing you. Especially if your DH is used to a higher-level service at other hotels - WDW resorts just won't compare.

I would also check to see about std rooms at YC. Check prices on the website to see if anything is on sale. CL is nice but not as nice as that type of room outside of Disney. And if you are just getting it because it is all that is left, and unless you plan on really using the cocktail hour, breakfast, etc, it's a waste of money.

We are trying it for the first time too. I am excited that everything has just been redone so all is newer. We enjoy a quick bite in the am before rushing off to parks, fresh snacks in the afternoon, and apps in the early evenings with dessert to follow. My favorite is that CLs have fresh melons me and something for everyone in my family.

I have far more experience at the MK resort CL's but did spend a night a BC CL over the summer. The BC rooms are newly refurbished as is the CL lounge. I was very impressed with the CL food offerings, they were excellent and leaps/bounds better than anything I had experienced at other CLs, including the much-touted GF. Many folks over on the CL thread have had similar highly-rated experiences with the food offerings at BC recently.

CL CMs were OK, nothing over the top, but I wasn't really there long enough to get a full body of work.

Beer/wine are free and available anytime the lounge is open.

You may need to adjust your expectations regarding a "high level of service." CL doesn't necessarily equal platinum level "service" - just not the way it works at Disney. Don't walk in thinking it's like staying at the Four Seasons. Like with anywhere in the world you can have experiences with CMs that are over the top awesome/helpful, and you can have some real duds. Staying CL certainly has plenty of advantages, but it is a 'different' type of concierge experience if you are accustomed to uber top shelf service. That being said, we stay CL every time!

Here are some pics if helpful!

Perfectly said above (and great pics!). CL is a huge part of our disney trips, but as said above, be sure your DH is going into it knowing it's not the same level of service he may be used to from other travels. As far as BC, it's one of the best, so I think it'll set a good first impression. It's more upscale than some other CLs and the newly refurbished lounge and rooms are great.
