Beach Club at 7 months out.

I booked a BCV studio at 7 months for the first week of September...I'm sure it's because it's normally a slow time. I'm guessing it wouldn't have been available if the Star Wars announcement had been made earlier.

I was happy the announcement came after I booked our 2BR!! That was close!

That's good to know as I am planning for a short stay there next June. By the way, how does BCV compare to BWV for a short non-park stay (2-3 nights)? I know the community hall is at BWV. What are other "major" differences? TIA.

To be honest it’s a toss up. I liked the Boardwalk pool area, much, much better than I thought I would. They are both wonderful resorts and have a slightly different atmosphere. Boardwalk perhaps slightly more adult orientated. I really like Boardwalk gym. As I was at Boardwalk last summer, I’m hoping to get Beach Club 1 bed (unless a Boardwalk Standard came up) at Christmas, but I’ll happily take Boardwalk if ain’t can get that and not Beach Club.

Thanks. How far is the walk between the two resorts? If both are available by the time my 7-month window opens, I would like to know which one would have an "edge" on the other. How much of a hassle would it be to stay at BCV & walk over to use the community hall? How about staying at BVW and walk over to use the pool/beach facilities over at BCV? Is it safe to assume the floor plan and size for the 1-bedroom villa at both resorts are similar?

You have to be staying at BCV to use the pools there. BWV pools are open to hopping though.

The floor plans are virtually identical although on the lockoffs at BCV the connecting door is at the entry way and at BWV it's in the living area.

Edge is really subjective. There's several things I like better about BWV but best is the walking distance is decent to either DHS or Epcot. BCV gets to be a bit of a hike to DHS although certainly walkable.

Thanks. It sounds like I should shoot for BCV if its pools are limited to its own guests. Since it's going to be a non-park stay, walking distance to DHS won't be an issue.

We just returned yesterday from BCV & I took my boys over to try out the BW pool. If you take the path that skirts behind the BCV and BC towards Epcot (it comes out near the bridge to the BW) it will take 7-8 minutes.

I wouldn’t worry about the hopping bit, we have had no probs with the BWV pool. The BCV pool can actually be busier and lots more kids.

If you walk from BCV to HWS, go through BWV and out the back, past the pools onto the path, that knocks about half a mile off the walk, rather than turning right out of Beach Club. From the left corner of BCV as you come out of BCV (shown on map above on right as red line where it meets the path around the lake) to HWS via BWV it is 1.8 km.
Both resorts are wonderful. I think I prefer the atmosphere (40s music playing etc) of BWV but it’s close.

I quite like the BWV quiet pool. Usually it's actually quiet! And right by the community hall too.
