Wondering about beach chairs at VB?If you can rent them, how much was it?

When we were there in early May they 2 sets of lounge chairs and an unbrella were all set up on the beach (about 10 groups total) everyday. I think they would set up more if more people used them. We didn't rent them becuase we tipically only spent and few hours at he beach then moved to the pool for lunch and swimming. I couldn't bring myself to spend the money just to sit on a chair for a few min. Now having said that I was 6 months pregnant and I don't remember sitting on sand being so difficult before! I had to have DH help me stand up once!

I really wish they were like the chairs at the pool, 1st come 1 served. I was a little hard to explain to 3 year old DD, we couldn't sit there because we didn't want to pay for it. I mean really how much more would it cost the resort to have free chairs at the beach, but a limited amount? Really this and how much they charged for a 1 min phone call were my only real complaints about the resort. That reminds me, I should fill out my on line survay today and let them know that.

I would buy a couple for $5 at Wallmart(in VB) if you are going to be there at least 4 or more days. If you fly down you can always just give them away on the last day to another family.

I agree - we loved the resort. But, I have no idea why they don't provide beach chairs. If they need to rent umbrella's I can live with that.

I fought (and lost) with my kids on the way to Vero regarding buying a boogie board. I said "no, they will provide them at the resort".

Luckily, the kids were correct! I paid 12.00 at a Winn Dixie and would have spent 7.00 at Vero!

These were my only complaints about the resort. Next time we will be prepared with a few small beach chairs.

All the rentals on the beach are by another company, not DVC.

I think it's the expense of taking them up and putting them out every day so they don't get washed away, are in good repair, and not an obstacle on the beach at night.
