Be Thankful for President Bush

But Kerry admits to being stunned not knowing what to do for an hour and a half.

Heck, if he was President in 2001, he might have been that way even longer. Who knows.

Anyways... it's pure speculation on your part as to Bush's state of mind at that time and what was going on behind the scenes.
Not speculation. He is reading My Pet Goat then his nostrils start flaring and his lips narrow. I am quite certain he is praying his friends the Saudi's didn't do this. OOPs they did!

Weren't we attacked (on a lesser scale) several times in the years preceding GWB? The Twin Tours, the Cole... We can't put up with this %&#&* anymore! I'm glad the President took the fight to them.

You quote scriptures in your signature and advocate killing. Interesting hypocracy. Just a reminder: IT WASN"T IRAQ!!!!!!!!

When are we going to take the fight to the people who attacked us? Iraq didn't have anything to do with the attacks and George is on record saying he doesn't care about Osama.

If you're so certain, prove it. Oh, wait, you can't! Next...

You are so right JoeEpcot. Let those "Liberals" do their "Liberal" things. That's all they are good for anyway.

Meanwhile, President Bush will manage the deficit like a real man. A conservative man. A Republican man. That pansy Clinton wouldn't know a deficit if it hit him in the side of the head. The best he could manage while he was President was a few measly surpluses.

It took a real man like Bush to get our finances back in order. That's why I'm proud that Bush is on our side.
I think your "800 billion" is a bit too high. I've $400-500B, not $800b. However, as I said to my boss one day, "The Dems tax and spend and the Rep borrow and spend." Both sides can't keep the spending in check. BTW, don't give Clinton all the credit for the surpluses, if he didn't have Gingrinch riding his you-know-what, we probably wouldn't have had them.
And it's not the deficits we should be concerned about (not that we shouldn't), it's the trade deficit that's going to come back and bite us. We Americans buy wayyy too many imported goods.

Hey Laura look at me!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! :moped: I haven't found any weapons of mass destruction but we'll be eat'n plenty of bacon. :thumbsup2

Hopefully that won't be happening anytime soon JoeEpcot.

The Bush Republicans still have a lot to accomplish. Deficits still have room to grow, more illegal immigrants still want to come to our country and there are plenty of other countries we could invade which (like Iraq) pose no threat to us at all.

Not only that, but there are still some forests to cut down, federal land to give away and air and water standards to relax. Oh, yeah, more tax cuts for the rich! :confused3

You couldn’t be more right jimmie. The liberals who were leading the country back then were a bunch of pansies.

Clinton should have found a country that was not involved in those attacks and then invaded it. Clinton could have invaded Oman, Qatar or possibly Jordan. It didn’t matter which country, just as long as the residents of the country being invaded were of the same race and\or religion of those who attacked the USS Cole.

If Clinton had done that, all the Republicans would have supported him big time. Isn’t that right jimmie?

But now we know better. The next time America is attacked, we won’t have to argue so much about who to attack in retaliation. That’s because it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that America takes its revenge on somebody who kind of resembles those who attacked us. (Unless that person is somebody like Timothy McVeigh because it isn’t fair to hold all white protestant American males responsible for the action of a crazy few.)

Our forests have not been decreasing for decades.

The government has too much land.

Air and water standards need to line up with science not beaurocratic randomness.

The tax cuts were for everyone who paid taxes. Logically, those who paid the most saved the most. (Are you prejudiced against successful people?)

I'll second that. The current group of liberals isn't too impressive either.

Well I sure do feel safer now realizing that in December 2005 2 GAO investigators were allowed to bring in cesium-137, a nuclear material across the borders in Texas and Washington. Oh yeah I definitely feel safer now! :thumbsup2

http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=GENERAL&fn=/2006/03/27/354799.html

At one port _ which investigators did not identify _ a director frustrated over false alarms was worried that backed-up trains might block the entrance to a nearby military base until an alarm was checked out. The director's solution: simply turn off the radiation detector. Nice training there! Sounds like we are so safe!!! :rotfl2:

Granted it was a small amount that could have produced minimal effects but what if someone not from the GAO decided to bring enough over to do something bigger....we STILL are not prepared for these kinds of scenarios 4 years AFTER 9-11.

We have spent $286 million dollars for detectors and yet they were still allowed to smuggle over the border. It is estimated that the 3,034 more machines needed across the country at border crossings, seaports, airports and mail facilities _ was "unlikely" to be met by the 2009 deadline and said the government probably will spend $342 million more than it expects.

I definitely don't feel any safer today than I did on 9-12. :sad2:

Sorry, I'm confused JoeEpcot.

Which liberals are you referring to? The ones who call themselves liberals (otherwise known as Democrats) or the ones who act like liberals (otherwise know as Bush Republicans.)

Joe, I cannot agree more. Science should determine how policy is crafted. But only if it agrees with George's policies. However, we must make sure that when the liberals try to use science, we make ir clear that the bible has to trump their scientific results.

I believe you stated that the bible takes precedence over scientific results in the Gay marriage thread.

So, what does the bible say about air and water standards?

Sorry, I can't help there. You established this thread as a sarcasm thread; no explaining allowed. ;)

First paragraph. Your sarcasm is in the spirit of the thread. ;)

Second paragraph. Only where science theories and the Bible disagree.

Third paragraph. We are to be good stewards.

I'm real glad GWB was our president on 9/11. I shudder to think what Mr. Heinz might NOT have done.

I just can't pass this one by. Bush sat for 7 minutes reading a book on 9/11 and then flew around in his plane trying to come up with a plan. He read a good speech on the day of the memorial, he didn't write it but he did give a good reading. It has all been down hill since then. Since it should have been Gore in office, I don't even know why you would bring up Kerry. IMHO they would have both done a much better job. And they probably wouldn't have spent the previous 5 weeks on vacation, so 9/11 might not have happened at all.

We also haven't been attacked my Aliens while Bush was President... Thank God.
Good point 2Xited.

Putting a Democrat into the Oval Office would be like sticking a sign on the doorstep of our solar system inviting all hostile space creatures to attack Earth.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want to end up as the main course in the Sunday Feast for some man-eating Space Aliens. And that's I'm still voting Republican this fall.

Yes, I will admit that Bush has made some mistakes and is proving himself to be a dangerously incompetent leader. But at least he is keeping the flesh-eating space creatures at bay. How many Democrats are brave enough to make that claim?

Look, it won't matter how huge the deficits are if we are all processed into soylent green for the aliens. That's why we have to keep voting Republican. The survival of the human race depends on it.
