A funny thing happened today... well not really.

We have a trip to BCV scheduled for Feb 23-28th in a 1BR. I made the flight reservations, scheduled the cats for boarding, and all of the minor little details worked out.

This morning I thought that it would be nice to add another day to the trip. I called MS to ask if there was availability to add the night of Feb 22nd. At that point I was informed that my reservation was for March 23-28th, not FEBRUARY!!! Needless to say a sinking feeling came over me; how do I tell my family that there was a goof up. The nice lady in MS placed me on hold for a moment and returned to tell me they were able to switch it to the correct dates but I had to be sure because as soon as they did there weren't any more rooms for either period. She switched it for me and all is well. I was floored that this happened as I noted it everywhere for Feb. The one thing I didn't do I guess from complacency was to check the dates on the reservation. I thought I did but apparently not... Sure enough, the reservation DID say March!!! Another funny thing is, we were wait listed for one of the nights in March and it came through and I STILL didn't pick up the wrong month. It isn't as if we are newbies. We have taken 7 trips to DVC in the past 15 months. I guess I really need a vacation.

Moral of the Story: If you say Feb, you plan Feb, be sure that you have a reservation for Feb (or whatever month you reserved)!!!

Big thumbs up for MS to resolve this issue.

Wouldn't we have a big surprise if we showed up? :) :)

A good reminder for all of us to always check your WRITTEN confirmation when it arrives :D :D ....

When we were there before Christmas a couple of weeks back, our DS2 got really sick on a late Friday afternoon. We were suppose to leave in the morning to begin making the 1200 mile trip home. Since he was vomitting, I didn't want to chance him not being better by the morning. Anyway, I called MS at 5:25 in the afternoon to get a place to stay Saturday night. There was a studio available at OKW but imagine our surprise when we went to OKW the next day and they told us we should have checked in Friday night, not Saturday night!! MS had made the reservation for the wrong night. Fortunately for us there was still a studio available and they were able to straighten things out but I guess you can never be too careful.

This is a wake up call to all of us to look at our confirmation letter. The confirmation letter is sent to all of us to look over and make sure everything is correct in the letter. Some of us take just assume everything is ok and really don't look at it.

My suggestion is to bring the confirnation letter with you and if something happens you can referrence your letter.

Mickbee...thanks for sharing the story and the advice.

And I'm glad everything worked out....I can just imagine telling my family that we are booked in the wrong month!!

Thank goodness you wanted to add on that night or I guess you would have been told all this at check-in!

Thanks for the good advice Mickbee! We'll be spending NH school vacation at BWV this time. Sure will be nice to get away from all this snow!

The funny thing is; I know better and always ensure the "T"s are dotted and the "i"s are crossed. Well you know what I mean! ;)

I looked at the ressie so many times but must have been complacent this time. We were very fortunate. The sad thing is, we would have hopped on that plane and never thought twice...

Chris, Glad to here you will be there the same time! Are you flying SWA? Hope to see you there! :D

Glad that you were able to correct the mix-up. No matter what, when I make our reservations in the future, I find myself checking the confirmation sheet several times, even on the drive or flight down, because I don't wish to get there on the wrong day...or miss our stay entirely, I must be nuts!

Always check and bring your confirmation letter!!

We were scheduled to check into DxL a few years back (about 6) on July 4th (2 Adults, 2 children 5yrs. and 6 mos.).........they had us checking in on July 5th!! Even though I had my confirmtion letter stating the 4th we had to move to Carribbean Beach that night and then move back to DxL the next day!! They were very nice but it was a huge inconvenience since we were only staying 4 days. They moved our luggage for us as we enjoyed the parks but it was still a pain.

A few weeks after we got home I recieved a letter and 4 one day park hopper passes!!

Sometimes your confirmation letter just doesn't work if there is no rooms available!!! I always double check one month prior to departure now that they have us booked even though I have my confirmation in writing!!! Maybe I am a little paranoid, but now with 3 children, I just don't want the hassle!!!

Glad it worked for you!! Have a great trip.
