Be Our Guests Going Signature

A lot of people aren't looking at price with DDP.

"oh, I got free dining."
"I like the prepaid part."
"This keeps my husband from knowing how much we're spending."

So I don't know that it being a $55 2TS changes much there either.

man at $75 a day that leaves like $95 to make up for in 4 snacks and 2 qs. BAD value all day long. But it's not my money!

We're doing BOG on the DxDP in October, but we got our DxDP discounted through the free dining promotion. Also though, DDP include alcohol now, so with a nice glass of wine the price bumps up from $55 to closer to $65. Which is still not a GREAT deal on the DDP, but it does make a bit of a difference.

the DxDDP credits are less per TS also if you use them all for TS. 2 credits is 2/3 of a day which is about what you pay for 2/3 of a day so it's pretty even.

it's $156 for 2 days of credits leaving you with 4 snacks and 2 QS.
vs. $116 for 1 day of credits leaving you with 2 snacks and 1 TS INCLUDING appetizer.

I'd do it on DxDDP

This will be a "SIG" just like LeCellier..... all hat, no cattle. Not a true SIG - crowd control :(.

Please - chose better? A WONDERFUL building, with no real food, is not a SIG...

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Is it possible that the new menu will consist of “real food”?

It can't not be given the QS earlier in the day. That stuff doesn't tear down in an hour between.

I can’t debate the quality, value, or how ‘weird’ a meal is before it’s even available. I have no idea how they will convert the space for the evening once the transition to the new concept is completed or how many empty tables there will be.
You seem confident in your position despite the lack of info. I can’t tell you that you are wrong, but I for sure won’t assume you are right. All I can say is Maybe.

Maybe. But it will still be a weird thing with lots of empty tables during TS and tablecloths on drink machines.

I actually expect them to put up "walls" to block those. They can be done in a nice theme but make them removable. I guess maybe they'd be called covers, but they'd stand like a wall...

For myself personally, if I visit with my great nieces while the price is $55 for 3 courses, I would find value in that. We celebrated a 2 year-old birthday there in September, and everyone loved it. The little ones were fascinated by the Beast and his castle. :)

If I were there while on the DxDP, I’d want to dine there because it would totally be worth using 2 credits for a sit-down dinner with an adult beverage and not have to leave the park for it.

I'm going to Disney for the first time ever next year and I wanted to go here so I'm kind of bummed that they are doing this but it doesn't effect my decision to go here one bit. I'm spending thousands of dollars on this trip, I'm not going to not experience something I was excited about to save a few dollars.

I hope a new menu will be available before the date they switch it over. We have a dinner reservation on July 27 (the first night of the new menu), which I made before I was aware of the change. I’ve really been hoping a new menu might be released before the night of our ADR. My DD is a very picky eater. We would still keep the reservation (because I’m eager to check it out!), but I’d like to know if I should plan on bringing a Danimal or something to supplement whatever DD will/won’t eat. Oh well...dessert, at least, will be a hit even if the rest is a miss!

They've released the adult menu, or at least the majority of it (see below), but nothing yet on kid's menu. You do realize you'll have to pay for her meal whether she eats anything or not.

From Disney's website:
"Start your meal with a sumptuous appetizer like French onion soup, charred octopus, escargot or a selection of assorted meats and artisanal cheeses. For your main, feast on mouthwatering entrées such as filet mignon, smoked black-eye pea tortellini, seafood bouillabaisse and other savory delights. Then, top off your meal with a delectable dessert.

This 3-course dining experience is $55 for adults (ages 10 and up) and $35 for children (ages 3 to 9). Tax and gratuity are not included. If using a dining plan, the prix fixe dinner will require 2 table-service meal entitlements per person."

And here's another link, which may or may not work with DISboards funky link happenings lately:

Yes, I’ve seen that. It’s the kids menu I’d really like to see. I don’t mind ordering something for my DD; she just may or may not eat it...though at least she will eat the dessert! I’d just like to know what’s on the menu so I know if I should plan on bringing something along to supplement her dinner; we’re vegetarian and sometimes there isn’t a choice on the kids menu. When that happens, they usually let me order for her off the adult menu, although I’m not sure if the adult vegetarian choices are going to require a more adventurous palette. Oh well. I’ll just keep checking and hope something will be released before July 27!

I hate it when a restaurant does not serve "real" food. :duck:

Each time we eat there I see plenty of open tables for lunch. Is is a staffing issue? We go on every trip and it is always the same.

I've never seen lots of empty tables at lunch. Some, yes, but not many. They have to leave some wiggle room to make sure all of the guests can get tables.
