My son and I are having a debate. He says the Be Our Guest Restaurant has a different atmosphere at night than they do at lunch. I realize of course the menu changes, but I say the atmosphere offered at lunch is the same as dinner. Can anyone elaborate? Thanks in advance. :)

The food changes, the restaurant does not. You are correct in this instance.

I think there is a big ambiance change. The lights are dimmer, they out down linen tablecloths, and it's much quieter and less packed.

It is similar but different. At lunch it is quick service, but they bring the food to a table. It seems a lot less formal. You also basically sit where you want. At dinner, it is a sit down style with a menu at the table. You are seated by the hostess. It was a lot quitter as there were fewer people waling around looking for places to sit and leaving .

I too am wondering how long a wait at lunchtime might be .... want to see inside this castle, but do quick service!

I see no reservations can be made for lunch; is there usually a long wait?

Yes, there is usually a long wait.

Here is some info from mesaboy's excellent fp+ thread.
Be Our Guest also offers a FastPass+, but it is accessed via a separate URL (https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com) and does not count against the 3 FP+ per park. As such, I am leaving it out of this discussion for now since prioritizing it against other attractions is not necessary.

The fp is only accessible about 30 days out from what I have read.

Thank you all for the quick response. :goodvibes It seems there might be a small difference as far as mood and service goes. Right now our only chance of eating there on our September trip is for lunch (going to try and get a fast pass for lunch) as no reservations for dinner are available for our dates. I am checking everyday, but no luck so far. Hoping there might be cancellations closer to our trip. Again, thank you!!

You needed a reservation ID (staying on property)

Don't give up on the possibility of getting a walk-up. It's been known to happen.

True. I probably should add this caveat to the FP thread's OP.

Thank you mesaboy2. What is the Reservation ID? We are staying onsite.

Should be the 12-digit confirmation number for your onsite stay.

I've seen dinner walk-ups work personally. I had done the ridiculous 180-day in advance ADR and as I was reporting in at the booth for my reservation, one or two groups walked up and asked and were let in. Kinda depressing, actually. (But hey, good for them!) :goodvibes

I have a resort reservation number, but it consists of 8 character and numbers in length. Another question; do you have to be within your 60 days to book a fastpass+?

Walk-ups being accepted would be a little frustrating after trying for months to get a reservation. :lmao:

As a relative local, I always book room-only--I'm pretty sure I've only ever gotten 12-digit all-numerical confirmation numbers. I know others' experiences can be different...perhaps for room/ticket packages?

For BOG, I believe it's either 30 or 60 days--certainly no more than that. Others here can verify.

Keep trying as you get closer to your trip. I tried all day, every day for a week, and on Sunday I got one for July 23. Don't give up.

Call disney reservations & ask for your long number reservation. I did & I was given my number then able to log on & get a fast pass for lunch. For lunch it's a fast pass not reservation. & I wanna say they are not that hard to get, I did it 2 or 3 days before our trip & I even had to change it while at the park because we were not going to be able to make it. I just logged on to the website & changed it to two days later (our second MK day)

Thanks again mesaboy2. You are the go-to-person. :thumbsup2 We do have a room/ticket package, so that could be the difference.
