Be Our Guest Restaurant

I read on one of the Guest threads that a CM had said that "Holiday Season" typically means after Oct 31st. I am hoping that is correct :wizard::wizard::wizard: because we are arriving Thanksgiving day and leaving Dec 1st.

Ok, so can they open Nov 1, because I'll still be there then? LOL

Had a problem with a canceled reservation and credit card on upcoming trip and recieved a call back at home from a manager or supervisor and asked about be our guest and she said probably 1st week of december with a soft opening with no dining reservations online or over wdw-dine just at parks during soft opening. She said usually is lunch for a few days and dinner for a few, they might only fill 80% of tables for training and working out the kinks. She said thanksgiving is an extremely busy week and wouldnt imagine an opening during that week unless it soft opened earlier.but possibily before but would bet right after thanksgiving. She also said off the record and not official alot.

Also for anyone booking ADR's for mid november thru xmas and wondering why no epcot reservations available she stated because of CP they block many reservations off and in mid to late July calendar will open back up for reservations

I called dining reservations a week ago and the CM told me that they had been told the restaurant would be open for the holiday season - they were not given a specific date but they are assuming Oct 31 as that is the official start of the Disney Holiday Season. He also said that I might be able to book when my ADR window opens .... which is June 10th!!! Although, that last comment I'm taking with a pinch of salt as I don't want to get too excited :goodvibes

I was booking my resort reservation yesterday and asked the CM about this restauruant. He said they are looking at opening in December, but it depends on the weather (Hurricane season).

I'm confused doesn't hurricane season end in September :confused3 or do you mean if hurricane season delays construction?

it's good to take any comment you get from WDW-DINE with a whole shaker full of salt, they're not accurate much of the time.

Hurricane season officially ends November 30... far past September. September is just peak hurricane season. But I think they're talking about possible construction delays should hurricanes be an issue earlier.

Ah, I didn't know that - see, lived here 8 yrs and still a lot to learn .... mind you, learning a new language took long enough - yes, I'm from the UK but Southerners speak a whole different language

I cant afford another expensive meal. We are eating dinner at CRT this trip (in February). I am planning however to have a quick service lunch here one day! I love that it is QS for lunch, so I can experience the castle in all its glory.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Speaking as a "Yankee" with southern relatives...you've got that right!!!

Wow- didn't even think about hurricane season impacting construction...but clearly, a valid concern. Hmmm- now even more reason to pray the storms stay away. Living on the Gulf coast and having close family in FL...it's one of the aspects I loathe about this time of year. I think I'll hate it even more if it delays BoG...not that anything is even certain about it opening for our dates, but surely- it can't help if a storm threatens central FL.

Really hoping it ends up being open for our trip! I'm hoping for dinner here on one of our MK days!!

They are saying it is supposed to be Quick Service Lunch and Table service Dinner. Based on that I would speculate that it wouldn't be an insanely priced restaurant like CRT. Doesn't Trails End do that? A La Carte for lunch and buffett for dinner? I'm trying to think how else they could do that and buffet seems to be the "easiest" way I can think of.

from the videos it looks almost done, structure wise. I don't get what hurricane season would do to complicate that. Looks like its all interior/finishing now.

Beef ragout, cheese souffle, pie and pudding au flambe. I also here you should try the grey stuff (it's delicious).
Is it wrong that I really want all of this to be on the menu? :thumbsup2

Not at all! It could be the "Be Our Guest" Special!

But if it's like the Remy character meal at Chefs, it could be Mrs. Potts & Chip, or Lumiere, and then just the small character at set times. That I think I could handle. I would prefer it not to be another princess meal also.

My idea was to have Belle and Beast in the lobby to greet guests as they enter (much like at Akershus). Then have the audio anamatronic walk arounds in the dining room, alternating between Lumiere and Mrs. Potts & Chip. No other characters, so it wouldn't be a full character meal, but enough to add a little touch of Beauty and the Beast.

I read something yesterday in one of the blogs (I apoligize that I dont remember which one...I scoured through quite a few) and it mentioned opening during the "Holiday season 2012" with ADRs possible in Aug :confused3. Who knows really, but I know there are lots of us who will be trying to get ADRs once they are available.

Trails End had or still does have some sort of soup and sandwich service for lunch but its still a TS credit*.

The one theory about BOG guest serving a QS credit lunch is that it will just be overflow seating for the QS next door. The exact same thing they do in Mexico for the QS and TS restaurant on the lagoon.

* Just checked Trails End is a la carte for lunch, buffet for breakfast and Dinner, but still all considered TS.
