I'm sure this has been asked, but when I searched, I couldn't come up with anything!!!! When I was planning our last trip Oct. 2010, I remember reading on here that there was going to be a new Beauty and the Beast character restaurant but I couldn't remember when it was maybe going to be open. I'm planning our next trip for October of this year and wondering if there's a chance it will be open by then? Anyone know or can you direct me to the latest gossip on if/when it might open? Thanks!!!! And forgive me if this has been asked a million times, searching "Be Our Guest" doesn't come up with much!

I was wondering this too. There's no solid info out there other than "late 2012". We are going in August. You may have better luck than us by October. Just keep an eye out here on the Dis and on the WDW dining reservations page.

just so you know, the restaurant will be quick service dining for lunch and table service for dinner. There are no plans for it to be a character meal.

Thanks for that info! IDK why I assumed it was character:confused3LOL. Probably because I would expect Belle and the Beast to be there! Ha! Wishful thinking, maybe! :)

Surprised you didn't come up with anything (maybe not, the search doesn't work well) when there's been at least 5 threads lately that I recall.

No new info on the opening date. "Late 2012" is the best Disney's put out lately. Rumors abound about reservations and soft openings. Nothing definite yet.

There are rumors (not confirmed or anything yet) that there will be entertainment at dinner, but not featuring traditional costumed characters - probably technology-driven.

Also no information on DDP status or possible credit counts.

someone posted that when she was making ADRs the CM mentioned that they would be taking rezzies for that restaurant soon.......make of it what you will....perhaps by late August (our trip time) we will be at Beast's Castle:lovestruc

The CM at the train station two weeks ago told us the train would go through the castle. He did also said that it would be counter service lunch and a more formal sit down meal but not characters for dinner. He said there would also be shops inside as well.

That isn't a full size castle. It uses forced perspective. Not sure how the train can go through it.

I heard it was opening in July, but I'm not 100% sure where I heard it (could've been this board). I sent a question into the Disney Mom's asking when ADR's would open up for it, but it was never answered.

Was this CM a bus driver at one point? ;)

I did hear what PP heard - that the characters will be animatronic (like Remy at Chefs de France) but won't be considered a character meal, per se. I would expect it to still be a CC hold restaurant though, even though it likely won't be a true character meal.

Not an unreasonable assumption, although I can't remember Pinocchio or Pecos Bill ever showing up at their restaurants.
