We have a 12:15 reservation. About how much time should we expect to wait to be seated from check in? (can I check in a little early?), and about how quickly after sitting down do we get the food?

Trying to see how to work up FP reservations around this.

Thanks

If you can go the online ordering then i think you would be sent to a table sooner than if you had to go through the ordering process at the restaurant, so if i had to plan a FP after BOG lunch I would probably make it starting at 1:15 --show up 10 minutes prior to your reservations, this would still give you an hour to eat and then leave to walk over to your FP. You do want a little time to walk around and check out the other rooms, if you haven't dined here before.

If i remember correctly, once we checked in, found a table, got up to get our drinks -- we had our food shortly after that.

I recommend preordering here. It saves a ton of time. The latest I have preordered was the night before, but I'm not sure if you can preorder the morning of.
We typically check in about 15 minutes early and as long as we preorder, we are seated within a couple of minutes. 3 out of 4 times we were the only ones in the preorder line. The other time was 1 party of 2. I don't know if a lot of people just don't know about it, but I'll use it every time! Every time we have preordered, the regular line was outside, at least 15 people deep.
Usually the food is delivered within 5 minutes, but we have had a couple issues where it was closer to 10 minutes. It's still not bad, and it's nice because the rooms are gorgeous and air-conditioned. I could sit there for hours.
If you preorder I would plan a FP for around 1, if not, closer to 1:30.

If you preorder you'll avoid waiting in a very long line to order.
Check in at or just a few minutes prior to your ADR and if you preordered they will send you pu the left side of the bridge to confirm and pay.
Then you seat yourself.
When I preorder it literally takes me maybe 2 minutes from check in to sitting down.
Food generally is there within 5 minutes.
Then you can eat as fast or slow as you'd like.
Usually if I want to be leisurely I'm in there about 45 minutes.

We just ate there last week and preordered our meal. We walked right up to the check in, then went to the counter inside to review our order, and finally picked our seats. The whole process took close to 5 minutes. After sitting down and getting our drinks it maybe took another 5 minutes to get our food. It was all very fast. Our reservation was for 11:35. We were able to meet Gaston after lunch and still made it to our 12:30 7dmt FP with time to spare.

When we preordered we had to wait a good 15 minutes inside because the parties in front of us apparently had to change everything they had chosen.

They should have been moved straight to the back of the normal line to make their updated order...
