Since you order lunch at BOG from a kiosk, do they allow you to add any specific food instructions (such as no lettuce, sauce on side, ect.)? And also, do they still have the roast beef sandwich on the menu? I didn't see it listed on the official menu, but it's supposedly a recent addition as of 2017. And one last thing- How do you specify if you want to use dining plan credits (for instance, i will want to use a QS credit and a snack credit in the same transaction)?

you have the option to order from a kiosk and they also have Cashiers, the kiosk is for people who stick to their offerings and pay with the Magic Band, and they will always ask if you’re using your dining plan before hand

The roast beef sandwich was replaced by a French dip, which is quite good. My only complaint was that they should give more jus.

@Moliphino awesome, I was looking forward to having the roast beef but had no idea that French dip on the menu was basically the same thing, lol

There is the option, both at the kiosk and on the MDE app, to modify your order so that you can leave certain things out. I think the roast beef used to come with arugula, or something I didn't like, on it, and I could specify that I didn't want that.

If you choose to order fromt he kiosk you can opt to leave CERTAIN items off. You cannot customize completely.

Personally I much prefer to pre-order and not have to wait in that line.

The roast beef sandwich of yore is gone and was replaced by the french dip sandwich in 2017.
Its still a roast beef sandwich but not the same as the original and it comes with au jus. (I'm from the Buffalo NY area where we do beef on weck so its not something I'm interested in because I know my local places "do it right" lol)

My new favorite is the ham and cheese sandwich.

You'll be asked at the cashier if you are using a dining plan and what credits you'll be using.

How do I preorder? Never done this before.

Pull up your BoG reservation on MDE. It will tell you beside the reservation when you are eligible to pre-order, which begins 30 days before your actual reservation. When you're inside 30 days, that date will turn into a link that will take you to the pre-order page.

Related question: Can lunch at BOG be modified to be low carb?

My father is diabetic and manages his blood sugar with a carb restricted diet... I know TS restaurants are pretty flexible, but I’m trying to figure out our CS options.

If he ordered the braised pork, would they substitute the mashed potatoes for extra veggies?

Yes, you can use a QS credit for your meal/drink, and a snack credit for dessert.

Just note there are a couple check out stations that are CM operated, not kiosks. So you do have the opportunity to have human interaction for your ordering. (I think they do all the cash ones.)

We ate at BOG for both breakfast and lunch for the first time a few weeks ago. We pre-ordered both. At breakfast, we checked in at the outside kiosk, bypassed the line waiting to order, and went directly to a cashier to confirm order didn't change and pay with dining credits. Easy peasy.

We returned on the same day for lunch. What a difference! We checked in at the outside kiosk and received a rose. Went inside and was directed to the right to join a line. I confirmed with a CM that we had pre-ordered and were we still to wait in that line. Was told yes. This line only took us to a second kiosk where they took the rose and then had us wait before directing us to an open cashier. We saved NO TIME by preordering at all.

Is that how lunch normally works? I'm confused because I see so many reports on how pre-ordering for lunch has saved folks time.

On a positive note, DH says that the french dip was the best QS meal he had all week! Also, they brought him extra au jus upon request.

Edited to add: I eat low carb. I got the braised pork and just skipped eating the potatoes. The pork and green beans was sufficient food and quite tasty.

I know you can do gluten-free...but I don't think you can sub like that doing pre-ordering. I'm honestly not even sure if you can sub like that at the kiosks.

We’ve eaten lunch there before after preordering and didn’t wait in line like you did. It may have just been a busy time/day for them.
