Be Our Guest Lunch Fastpass

And then it gets a little weirder. . .so, I tried a number of things to work around the error message. I tried changing my email address in my profile (didn't work). I tried clearing browser (didn't work). Then I invited my husband (who is on our hotel reservation) to help "plan" through MDX (as if!). I used his email address and our reservation number to log into Be Our Guest. It worked--I got in! But, once again, the four people who popped up on our reservation were NOT the people we are traveling with, but rather four men! I figured I'd give it a shot anyway, since the reservation was under my husband's name and we needa ressie for 5 people, anyway, and tried to book a table, but when I went to the available dates, all I got was May 1-7, which I figure are those other people's travel dates. Those aren't the dates I need. I hit May 7, anyway, just to see if it was available (it wasn't), but when I tried to go back and check a different date, I got the error message again.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

I've read on another Disney site they are starting to turn people away if you didn't receive an e-mail invite to get a Fastpass for BOG. Any truth to this? Even though some folks were able to get a fastpass and order their meal before arrival, they were turned away on the date of their reservation because they didn't receive an e-mail invite to the BOG site login. I called Disney to see what they would say and all the CM could tell me was that there is a BOG fastpass issue, but he wasn't sure how they were handling it.

Anyone else heard anything about this? :confused3 I was able to make or Fastpass ressies, but didn't receive an invite. I will be bummed if we are turned away.

I could always call back and ask someone else too. Maybe I'll get a different answer.

I find if VERY interesting that I used the BOG FP+ last October. I can still log in to the link and book a FP+ for the next few days. I do not have a current resort reservation. strange

Same -- we haven't been there since Feb and I was just now able to go in and reserve a FP for today, including ordering our meal. Of course I cancelled it because we can't fly that far by lunch time. :rotfl:

We did get an email but that was on check-in day, long after I had made the FP reservation. So you may still get an email.

The CMs having been telling callers that its by invitation only but on the DIS we know that is not true. Based on posting here, the overwhelming majority of people using the FP+ without an invitation are getting in with no problems.

I would suggest taking a screen shot of your FP+ just in case. If they ask to see a copy of your e-mail, tell them you don't have a smartphone (keep it hidden). We used the FP+ in October with no problem but I don't have a smartphone and my tablet was back in the room so even if I had one I couldn't have produced it.

I wondered if we would have any issues getting in because I knew that it was by invite only. I was near BOG before out FP+ time so I went to the check in building and asked if we needed to check in 15 mins in advance like ADRs, they said no and then I asked if they could confirm that my sister and my names were on the list and they were. Left and came back later.

No one on this thread has reported being turned away without an invite.

It sounds to me like the reservation number you used with both your Disney login your husband's Disney login might be off, even just by one digit, and so it's pulling up someone else's reservation.

Which doesn't make complete sense, because the site appears to require a match between your name (on the reservation) and the reservation number. But it's the only clue I can think of.

If you determine your were using the incorrect reservation number, you may need yet another Disney login name to try it out with the BOG site.

I thought I asked this somewhere else, but now I can't find it. I have a FP+ for BOG. I got an email invitation, so now I don't feel so "illegal" anymore. HA! I've read that some people were able to book for more than one date, but each time I go to the website, it will change it to another date. If we actually want to go more than once during our vacation, how do we do this? Do I have to wait until after the first date is past, and THEN book? We probably won't go twice anyway, but was just wondering how people said they had more than one during their trip.

This. Once your first FP+ time has passed, you can go back to the site and book another one for whatever date and time is available. If you try to do it before you've used the first FP+, it will make you choose between the two, since you can't hold two FP+ at the same time. DH and I ate at BoG three times during our vacation, and I had no problem booking another FP+ for a day or two after the previous one once I had used the earlier FP+.

As I noted in a previous post, DH and I ate at BoG three times during our March vacation, and we never received an email invitation. I just went to the site and made a FP+ when our dates opened up. We were never questioned by a CM at any point - they just checked whatever system they have and sent us straight in, and our magic bands turned appropriately green at the scan point. If Disney doesn't want people doing this, they should take down the website, since they own it.

Thanks for the quick response. :thumbsup2

I called the nice IT folks today about a few problems I am having with MDX, and asked about Be Our Guest. The lady said that people have been passing around the Be Our Guest website information, but that the only way to make a reservation is to wait for the invite. She said that everyone staying on Disney property should get it the day before they check in, because that is when they are sending it out to Disney guests. She said that for anyone else who tries to make a reservation, the program makes it look like you can do it, but when you arrive, you don't actually have a reservation. From this board, it would appear that is not true, however.

She said what likely happened to me (I get linked to someone else's account and then just get an error message) is that someone made up a reservation number to try to get the fast pass, and it just happened to be mine, which is why it appears to be linking me to someone else's reservation. Which of course makes me wonder what happens if I change a number or two on my reservation number. :)

Yet another example of a CM who doesn't know what they're talking about. I stayed on property a few weeks ago and didn't get an email invite. And I made three FP+ for BoG in two weeks using the website, and they were honored without question. The forums are full of people who did the same.

Also the invite doesn't come the day before you check in. My brother's family is going in May and received an invite already.

Does anyone know if there is any way to get a fp for a day farther than 7 days?

We are there using a FP+ on Wednesday. We ate at 12:55 and I received the email invite to participate at 2:00:). We had no issues getting in. The system didn't save our meal choices, however, so we had to reorder. Not a big deal. My daughter turned to me and said, "mom, your Fast Passes are the best" as we walked by the HUGE line of people waiting. Lol

I have gota FP+ for May 9th , but just received an invite e mail. Should I rebook or do you think I am safe without rebooking ?????
