Be Our Guest Lunch Fastpass

The system gives us two arrival windows at us to choose from. Sometimes they're the same times, because it knows what we want better than we do. ;)

It gives us 30 minutes to select one before we are presented with new options (through refresh) or we can refresh the page, and sometimes it gives us new options.

So I am going to assume that "direct to table" is the selection you choose when you want to select your time, your meal and pay for it, then when you arrive at the restaurant, you check in and go find a seat and wait for your food to be brought to you and you skip the line outside and the cashier part?
And the "Expedited Arrival" is the selection you choose when you only want to select your time and that’s it and then when you arrive at the restaurant, you check in and get to bypass the line outside, but still have to stand in line to order and pay from the cashier?

Is this correct? or do I have it backward?

I have been hearing that the 'order ahead' feature is not working on Disney's end and they loose the order (has been like this for many months). I also don't think it allows pre-pay since many folk change their minds before arriving.

So... either way, it's simply a time saver, reserving your place in line for you. The ordering feature is just nice to see what's offered.

Definitely agree! Can't wait to try and book my BOG FP! Just wanted to make sure I was selecting the right option:goodvibes

The preordering feature wasn't working for us on Friday 6/6. But it made our visit to the kiosk very quick since we already went thru that process ahead of time. I noticed other guests seemed be taking a long time to order. This really slows down the process so plan to be patient and give yourself the extra time to relax and enjoy the meal. We loved it.

We did preorder for our lunch at BOG on 5/24. When we checked we were asked if we were changing our meal choices. We said no. Went in. Then we were told we has to select our meals. We had to wait behind a family of 5 who had no idea what they wanted for anything. We knew what we wanted and were a little annoyed at having to wait to select what we already selected in an effort to avoid this very situation. It didn't take us long to select our meals again but I wish that after check in they could have then sent our preselected meals to the kitchen to be made. Checkin-in and our magic bands should show were are there and ready for our food.

We received a BOG invite but our dates are not open yet. We arrive on July 6th. I wanted to book towards the end of our vacation but it only shows our first 7 days.:confused3

Don't worry, it's behaving the same as you describe for everyone, showing just the first 7 days (I guess the programmers only want us to stay on site for a week? ;)) In order to make a reservation for that 8th day or later you'll need to be 7 days out from it when those will open up for you one day at a time.

... I think a FAQ added to the start of this thread might help folk just starting off so they don't need to read all the pages.

You have this correct -- direct to table includes pre-ordering the food, expedited arrival is line bypass -- but even when you choose expedited arrival, you can come back later to the BOG site and add an order. That's what I did -- got an expedited arrival time slot, then came back later and added the food order.

Just wanted to report we used the fast pass on Sunday (no invite) and it worked perfectly. The best part was walking past that long line of people waiting in the hot sun :rotfl2:

I wouldn't worry about ordering in advance, they have a CM working the computer and you tell them what you want. It takes under a minute.

Our food arrived within minutes.

We ate a BOG dinner the Thursday before, and I think I liked the food at lunch better. Although they are two different experiences, I don't think I would do dinner again. French onion soup was bland and so was the shrimp and scallop pastry thing.

Tip. If you find a table and it still needs to be cleared, just wait and someone will be along( this happened to us in the west wing) kids wanted to eat there. Worse case the person who brings your food will get someone.

I received an email invitation to make the fast pass lunch reservation for my upcoming trip. However not all of the dates of our travel are listed, including the day I wanted to try to make the reservation for. Will the other dates show up? We are going 6/27 thru 7/6/14. The website only shows thru 7/3/14.

We are DVC, don't know if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Tracie

Hi Tracie, It's working this way for everyone DVC or not (I'm also DVC) The system will only show you the first 7 days of your trip. Once you start your stay it will start opening dates further out one day at a time, keeping the furthest open 7 days out.

So let's say you've already made your reservation for lunch like a month ago and now you can't remember what time you scheduled it for. How can you see your reservation info?

Never mind. It just wasn't showing up from my phone the last time i checked but I saw the option to see the reservation details when I logged back into the site

Just go to the BOG lunch FastPass site and log back in. It should tell you what you have already scheduled. Then you might want to print that page out or take a screen shot.

Our "order ahead" order didn't work and we used the BOG fast pass last December. We did skip the line, but ended up selecting all new meals (which worked because dd16 decided to sleep in that day and didn't join us anyway). I'm surprised it's still not working. However, it's still nice to skip the line. And trust me, the day we used it, the line was loooooonnnnnggggg.

Fastpass is open for July 6 for me now....for those that need it. I am still waiting for 8th

Thanks so much for the info! That will finish out the Fourth of July weekend (since the 6th is a Sunday,) so maybe tomorrow they'll open up a larger chunk. I hope so, this is driving me nuts :) It's also good to know you checked in the AM, since earlier in the thread someone posted that they weren't changed over until noon?
