Be Our Guest (Dinner) Questions

So we just recently snagged a 4:15pm DINNER reservation for Be Our Guest. I was under the impression that we would be able to meet The Beast. Not that he comes table-to-table, but that we could meet him after we eat somewhere in the restaurant.
First Question - Is Beast always available to meet and take pictures with when you book a DINNER reservation?
Second Question - 4:15pm is a bit early, HOWEVER, I know I should be VERY thankful that I got anything at all. What are the chances that I'd be able to get something later - like 6pm or 7pm anytime between now and when we go in October. Maybe more of a chance as we get closer to our date and people are canceling?
Unrelated Third Question - I see a lot of you guys have super cool ticker countdown banners on the bottom of your posts. I made one using a website that was one of them, but I don't see it showing up. How do you do it?

Thanks so much!

1. He is generally there, but it is not a guaranteed appearance and it could so happen that you would not get to see him.

2. May be tougher in October due to the Halloween party.

We usually book a 4:00pm BOG dinner reservation because it will likely be on time since it's early (we've always been seated right away which is nice). The Beast has been there for us (but as PP mentioned, it is not guaranteed). We met him in a separate room after we ate dinner (on the way out). He was very charming :goodvibes and fun to meet.

Have been lucky enough to have dinner there 4 times and the Beast has been at all of them and to get your picture made in his study. Also, they are very nice to take pictures for you if you are not doing the Disney photo pkg.

I just commented last week about how I found our dining reservations the week BEFORE our trip, even BOG, CRT and Ohana were available. A lot of people cancel within that 2 day time frame, especially those who have multiple ressies. So check OFTEN the week before. :-)

We'll be doing BOG for dinner too. Our ADR is for 6:20pm (early June). I was surprised I didn't have any problem getting it at that time for 8 people.

I'm disappointed to hear that the Beast isn't always there. That was one of the reasons why I chose BOG. I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. I'm still looking forward to the whole experience, but meeting the Beast would make it much more complete!

We have eaten at BOG 2x and Beast was there in his study for photos after dinner. It's a wonderful experience!

I'm really hoping a later time will show up, thanks. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next 175 days lol.
So what about the banner? Where do you input the script for it? :)

Not sure how to do the banner at DDIL did mine. There are different sites to get them and they tell you how to do it. I'm technologically challenged. You can also go to the "Technical Support" at the bottom of the forums.

Does this mean that later dinner reservations run late? Is this the norm and how late do they run? Just trying to figure a strategy as we will have a toddler who may not tolerate a long wait.

I'm no expert, but if you go to a website that creates the ticker, when you are done creating it, there is a URL address/code that appears for you to copy and paste into your signature on your disboard account. I used tickerfactory.com

We usually do early dinner times, when we can, to avoid restaurants running late. I don't have experience with having to wait at BOG, but it likely happens from time to time. We have had to wait before at other ADR's (10-30 min) at Disney.

I have never heard of the Beast not being there for dinner. He was there the two times we have gone. I think there is a very good chance a more desirable time will open up. People frequently change their plans. Good luck! We have always enjoyed BoG and will be having a third dinner there on our next trip!

Last year we had a 6:00 BOG reservation and were not seated until 7:00. We got a reservation this year for 4:30 to avoid that.

Yes you should get to meet the Beast, but not until AFTER your dinner. When we ate here, our dinner table was the closest table to the queue to meet Beast. We saw many a near meltdown as children were escorted PAST Beast on their way to the dinner table. The CMs who do the seating do a great job of interacting with the kids and explaining that Beast doesn't want them to be hungry when they meet, so he requests they eat first etc. It's actually pretty cute, and I was impressed by how skilled the CMs were at diverting the meltdowns. I think if you check back frequently, something may open. The trouble is people cancel 1-2 days out, since you only have to give 24 hour notice in order not to get charged.

As far as the ticker, I think cindala is correct. Copy the url and then go to your profile and find the signature link, paste the url in your signature and then next time you post you'll see your ticker (hopefully)! Good luck.

I realize I'm not going during a super busy time, but we are going next week and got a 5:15 reservation last week for next week. However I did only get it for two, but I didn't try for more - it is date night with my son.

I was up early this morning and I decided to check Be Our Guest for any new dinner openings (as I've been doing 3x/day since my Dining Reservations opened 3 weeks ago!) And sure enough! BAM there it was... 7:30pm. So I grabbed it. I'm a happy camper today! Thanks all!
