Be Our Guest Breakfast - prices Ohhh la la!!

Yup. I chuckle every time I hear someone mention how "wonderful" the pastry platter was.

I actually got a nice platter in August. It was NOT the SAMs club or grocery store bakery assortment. In December, well...I like chocolate croissants wherever they come from. LOL! But it was not the same.

I think many fight hard to get this sought after reservation they want to LOVE IT after all that and the hype about the place..and try to convince themselves they didnt just shell out $24 for this in vain. ;)

Since I promise myself that when on the DDP I will not look at prices, I am okay woth this one. I do like it, it was one of our favorite breakfasts. I would not pay $24 OOP for this meal though. We are not that family who beats feet to the Mine Train, so we choose BOG because we like it and we do like one early entry into the MK. I do not enjoy CP breakfast and have no interest in CRT breakfast. T

The ones they brought us in late September were one notch above barely able to eat. Just bad quality. If you're starving, I guess....

FWIW, we have free QSDP and have a reservation there 8/29. Would we do it (just me and DD) paying OOP? Nope. Never. Not even close. But, we'll do it on the plan.

Last time we had free QSDP we did it and shared, only because I was feeling sooooo sick to my stomach that morning that I couldn't eat (blame it on the treat from Goofy's Candy Co that I ate late the night before - way too much chocolate!). It was cute and fun, and she liked it!

Or from a nice Lutheran church in the midwest, where stale pastries defrosted from the freezer in the Fellowship Kitchen are the norm.

A Prairie Home Companion is less parody than people think.

The prices are bonkers, but hey, when you compare it to the cost of the early entry package they created, it's sort of a bargain. :D In most cases, you're doing to be able to at least ride 7dmt and PPF once each without a long line. Some people report riding them a couple times. Time is money, and as others have said - everything at Disney World is expensive.

So basically if I fork out the cash for the DDP, it's worth it. Which basically tells me, that the dining plan almost becomes worth it if I reserve places like BOG, where prices are inflated. So the DDP is a wash aka overpriced.
Alright, so I think we will pass on the $24 breakfast. (by the way, I don't think coffee comes with the breakfast).
It's just ridiculous. So expensive. And again, I'm used to the crazy prices. I had a $167 lunch today- there were just 2 of us. That was before gratuity. YIKES. That's NYC for you...

OT but I love that you have a photo of the ice castle. I am in NYC as well but was on my DCP during the promo. I almost wanted to convince the head tech to let me come along just so I could get a trip home haha.

Too bad I can't seem to upload a good shot! I should try again. That was SUCH a fun day. We got to meet the real Merida- I mean, THE ORIGINAL. She was gorgeous and perfect and amazing. My daughter, who was barely 2 at the time, LOVED it as well. I sure wish they'd do something like that again!

I imagine in the next big promo they will. It was fun to hear about how they came up with it and the beach party one they did in Times Square prior to that (I think it was teen beach movie?). I was hoping we would get a big one for the Awakens Summer promo but maybe for the park expansion openings in a few years.

Is it a character meal?

Sorry, my crew prefers to sleep in and eat in the room LOL!

Nope. The only time there is a character is at dinner and he is not a guarantee (but I don't think the Beast has ever missed a night).

Your right, the ones at BOG are sprinkled with pixie dust which make them so much better than the pastries from Sam's Club or from Entenmanns. :goodvibes

LOL!!! The platter in August was actually very nice, and bakery fresh. When we returned in December they were the grocery store pastries, not at all like the miniature treats we had previously. But you are right, that pixie dust that was sprinkled on the chocolate croissant that was cut in half made all the difference in the World! LOL!!!

I agree 100%. I thought it was overpriced at $19.99! We did eat breakfast there twice last year, both times on the dining plan. It's a good use of a quick service credit. No was I would pay that out of pocket. I might as well go to a nice buffet for that price.

No character at breakfast. We also like to take it easy in the morning and just eat in the room. However, I was looking to do something different and special on this trip.
This thread has definitely changed my mind- we will eat in the room and instead have a nice sit down lunch. :)

I don't know where I was for the teen beach thing- I don't remember it happening but who knows. I hope they do another one soon!

You could go to the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch :)

Breakfast is ridiculously overpriced at Be Our Guest. There is no "cronut" worth $20 unless Theo James is bringing it to your table.

That cronut or croissant doughnut or whatever Disney wants to call a glorified donut is now $24 and your still not getting Theo James to bring it to your table. :rotfl2: I had to Google who Theo James is... I'll pass on him as well as this donut. :rotfl:
