Good lord. Is the blessed 7DMT THAT great? People are going to make an ADR just to grab a cupcake and/or coffee just so they can be first in line for this ride? What does it do? It must be freaking amazing.

I couldn't stand the thought of a family that might actually want to eat a meal there not being able to get an ADR because I used up a slot to drink coffee and eat a cupcake. I can grab that at Main St. Bakery and leave the ADR for someone who actually is going to eat a meal at BOG.

But I guess I'm weird.

Yes, people will book pre-park opening meals to get on the ride first and maybe even a second ride before the masses arrive.
Yes, people will get to rope drop so early they are first, then "run" as fast as they are allowed to get to the ride.
Yes, people will book reservations to eat early then pay the no show fee to get to the ride first.
Yes, people will push you out of the way to beat you in line.
Yes, people will lie about having a FP+ for it and argue with CMs.
Yes, people will sneak by the first scanner and play dumb at the next.

Can't wait to see how it rolls when Frozen Ever After opens ...... might want to keep the Alpha Units on standby.

NO. Rode it once with a FP+ and decided then and there I would never waste one on it again. I do not *have* to have thrill rides, but dear lord that thing is overrated.

I'm definitely with you. Save the experience for a family that WANTS to eat there for whatever reason. (Again, BTDT (at lunch) and left going "Meh... That is what everyone is gaga over?")

I agree with those who say that it is a matter of time before it becomes a set price and everyone must pay - as it was initially promoted breakfast would be.

I'm so glad that's not opening until after our trip.
I've watched videos of Mine Train and it's cute and all, but I cannot understand all the hype.

I think BOG should open when the rest of the park opens. ADRs should start at whatever time MK opens that day. That'd eliminate a lot of this silliness.

7DMT is not a thrill ride nor is it classified as a thrill ride. The folks who get the special "Thrill Ride FP+" card can't even use it there. It's for the other three mountains.

It's a family coaster. I enjoy it as do many others. It's a must do on every day we are at the MK. It's not about the ride other than the rocking cars, which are very unique. I love the dwarfs in the mountain and the imagineering. I love all the incredible details and see new things on each ride.

I never said it WAS. I clarified that I don't NEED something to be a thrill ride. Heck, I am a sucker for Dumbo and IASW.

I just found it meh and not worth stressing myself over in the future.

I'm with you as well. I knew it was not a thrill ride and did not find it all that impressive; it's not even a must do for me when I'm in the MK. And I certainly wouldn't wake up at the crack of dawn 180 +10 days out so that I could book an ADR at BOG to get a cup of coffee, perhaps a donut as well, head out the door and meet the rest of my family waiting at the inner rope so that we could all make our "fast" pace walk over to the 7DMT before those waiting at the front of the park also wanting to head over to the 7DMT... I guess different strokes for different folks. Or perhaps Dug720, you and I are the only ones beating to a different drum here.

I apologise in advance that I haven't had the time to read through all these pages but does this price increase change anything for those on the dining plan?

If I was paying OOP I works be cancelling my ADR

Shoot, I absolutely love SDMT. It allows me to take a leisurely stroll over to Splash and BTM after leaving my pre-park ADR at Crystal Palace while the running of the bulls takes place toward SDMT. I can ride both of those two or three times each before ever having to really wait...and they're much better rides than SDMT. Not that SDMT sucks or anything, but it is a bit overrated, too short for the build-up, and the seats are NARROW. I'm not overweight, but I am tall and of average build, and it's cramped in both directions for me. Might be interesting for some who haven't ridden it that have the plan to go suck down a cupcake of all things at BOG, then try to wedge those wide hips into the molded in seats of SDMT.

Excellent insight from an Alabama fan. Didn't think it was possible. :rotfl2: (truly just kidding) Seriously, I do the same thing. :thumbsup2

OH-IO... Go Buckeyes:goodvibes

Makes me happy I have a pre-park at CP! at least I know my boys will leave full for about the same amount of money!

Us too! We have a pre-park opening at CP and our boys love it there. We would never do BOG for breakfast, we pay OOP and that is just outrageous!

Nope. Still just one quick service credit. And your beverage is included with the price of the entree. All good. :)

I have never been to BOG. Will keep my ADRs for my upcoming 40th bday trip, pay the prices and enjoy what will be our last trip in a long time.
ps it seems drinks are still included.

AGREE.

I am sure they sat around and said "Hey for all those folks sharing, they are also sharing the unlimited drink fountain, which you aren't supposed to share, because there is no option to buy a drink - so let's add a drink to the menu so they can buy everyone a drink. It's money we aren't making. Hey let's add that cupcake everyone must have and who cares if it used to be $2.99, we'll make a fortune at $4.99, guests won't care. We'll sell thousands. That will surely make up for all the folks not eating and money we are losing out on."

So now when those tables that shared a meal or two are now just buying a cupcake to share to get inside the illusive building to take pictures or pre-park hours ....... they will sit dumbfounded and wonder how their income went down after raising prices. :confused3

I actually find this bothering me as much as the price increase (which bothers me quite a bit). The fact that the people in charge seem to be SO shortsighted and unable to grasp how this could negatively impact the business really makes me question the decisions they may be making. I honestly believe what you have stated is completely true and that nobody anticipated how it could actually negatively impact the profits (let alone the bad PR).

I had a BOG breakfast booked for our upcoming trip. I cancelled it before I heard about the price increase. I really wanted to try it, my family didn't really care, but because it was new, I was hoping it would be a new experience, but I realized that it's just like lunch but earlier and different food...still the same experience. My family discussed it and having done the lunch and the chaos of having to get your own table which at times were difficult (we're just not as pushy or rude as others) and so we would take a long time looking for a table. And this is one of the reasons why we don't eat at counter service restaurants. So we'll just stick to dinner where they seat you.

With all the talk about getting there before rope drop and getting an advantage by getting early reservations, I'm glad none of us want to do that. My reservation was at 9:50am (which was the latest I could get for breakfast) and I wasn't even sure my family would be able to make that. We're late risers. We have never made rope drop in almost 20yrs of going to Disney. And I agree with some here, I do like the 7DMT and so does my family, but not enough to do what others are willing to do. Even after reading posts here for years, I am still surprised that some people would create such a stress in their vacation to get the advantage. I'm tired just thinking about the convoluted ways people do things. I'm an uber planner, but nothing to that extent.

Maybe when the hype dies down and they start seating people (just hoping), we may just try the breakfast. The menu does sound interesting. It's such a shame that such a beautiful and detailed restaurant would turn into such a chaotic atmosphere. We have dinners booked so we'll get our time inside.

I don't understand the drama about what people choose to order. I am a restaurant manager and wouldn't care what you ordered, as long as it was on the menu. It's not prix fixe so it's up to the individual. Ordering a cupcake isn't rule breaking as there are no rules.

We have BOG breakfast reservations next Tuesday and I'll order what my stomach tells me it wants that morning. It's not like it's a buffet and People are bringing ziploc bags.

It infuriates me. I'm an over 30-year Stockholder, I love Disney. I love WDW. I go ALOT. I spend ALOT. They area a brilliant company, and so many (myself included at times) drink the kool-aid and/or appreciate their brilliance. But when they go stupid, sometimes they go hard to grasp stupid. BOG is one of them.

BOG has been open over 3 years and it's still a cluster. They should have passed on the Rose Gallery (not even in the movie), expanded the West Wing, and made it TS 3x a day. They could have had Belle & the Beast for the Library meet and guaranteed with them together every seat would be filled at every meal. Make it easy like CRT or Askershus, prix fixe, they'd have to hire a bean counter for all they would be making.

They went through a crazy FP system to eat, folks standing on the bridge for hours wanting to get in, they hear all the complaints from folks who can't get an ADR, all the complaints from folks showing up to the podium without one wanting to eat, the complaints on how expensive breakfast is, they see the numbers coming in so much more than the numbers who eat/pay - well some eat since that pastry tray serves plenty. A middle school math student could tell them the current setup already encourages people to come in and sit and spend nothing. The new menu .... is further encouraging guests to spend little. Bad business.

This restaurant cost a great deal to build, has high overhead and is completely set to be a huge financial hit and cash cow to the bottom line. So much loss potential

A few decades later, folks wanting a pre-park breakfast reservation at one of the others - just for an empty Main Street photo .... it still hasn't died down. When they added an inexpensive option where not everyone had to eat/pay AND right next to the two hardest to get FP+ = the scrambling and chaos we have today. Nothing will die down or change about this at all until Disney reigns in this restaurant to be more like the others. And for the later breakfasts, it will get worse because now they have given an option for those who just want to see the inside and not eat.

Nothing will change at all unless they turn this into the TS it should have been all along.
