Be Our Guest Breakfast Price Increase

Next on the list of ways to recover Shanghai overruns...surge meal pricing. Have a pre-opening ADR..enjoy that 2.5x multiplier!

Oh my goodness.... my cynical self absolutely believes this would be next by way of a small "convenience fee" tacked on to all orders made prior to park opening. Of course it could be "sold" as a way to keep other administrative and personnel costs low so that the park remains a budget friendly and inclusive experience.
So cynical!:crazy2:

Another change to the menu is that all the drinks have prices now. Used to be only special ones had prices. Does that mean one drink is not complimentary any longer? Hey, but Look! You can get a grey stuff topped cupcake at breakfast now!
I wonder if the drink prices are just so they can charge people who are sharing a meal.
Gosh, I can't help but feel like this is a direct reaction to the MAJOR dissatisfaction that folks expressed in not being able to get reservations at this restaurant. People were behaving online and everywhere else like it was going to be the end-all be-all of their vacation if they didn't eat breakfast there...so many letters written to Guest Service, etc. from irate Guests - they HAVE to do something about the craziness.
Has BOG breakfast ever been sold out? I haven't seen complaints about breakfast. Honestly, I can get a reservation for 5 of the next seven days. It's not difficult.

I'm going to keep our pre-park breakfast, but my son will definitely have cereal in the room and eat off the pastry plate. One credit for a chance at an early SDMT I can deal with. I don't think I would ever do without the DP.

Last year, it was practically impossible to get breakfast reservations there and people had an absolute fit all over the internet. It's much easier now, but I still think that's where this stems from and if a business *can* make more money, they will.

Sure these prices are absolutely crazy, but what is even crazier are those who smoke the pixie dust and will keep paying these prices just to "experience" the castle and early entry. Some will say, "I'm on the dining plan." Their still paying for it with increased cost to the plan even if using a free dining plan. There seems to be no breaking point yet when it comes to things like this or the Wishes Dessert Party to name a few. Disney continues to raise the prices and the masses keep on adding to their coffers.

You might be remembering about lunch. Breakfast has always been easy to book. Of course, pre-park breakfasts are often difficult to find, but during park house is easy.

I have to admit I am a sucker for pre park opening. I love the walk down main street and the castle in an semi empty park. Perfect for pictures, etc. I'm sure when we are on the DDP again with my family of 5, we will cave and book another BOG breakfast

Oh wow! I was considering canceling a lunch ADR on may 17 for breakfast ADR on the 18th. Now, not gonna happen.

I am too, but I'd much rather pay a few more dollars and go to CP than this offering at BOG. This June there will be 8 of us and we have an 8:00am for CP...

BTW - it looks like Lunch entrees went up $2 as well

ETA: So did the cupcakes

While I would agree for the most part. We were in and out of BOG quickly. I always feel like we spend way to much time at character meals and CP just doesn't do it for my family.
I'd probably jump on CRT first next time. We didn't get one last visit, we were all pretty bummed. Love eating in the castle for breakfast

Yeah...no. I had been half-heartedly debating if I wanted to do it one morning even though the price for it before hand pretty much choked me. But this just seals it. 'Ohana and CP for me on my MK days.

Yeah, I was just about to post this. Seems like many overlooked it.

Absolutely ridiculous.

But, I agree with what someone previously posted. The drinks now being charged for is probably a direct result of sharers helping themselves to more than one drink per meal without paying for them, and some who believe that they can help themselves to coffee AND a soft drink because it's self serve, etc.

Looks like dinner prices went up too, right? I don't recall the steak being $35 before but haven't had dinner there in a while. But $24 for a breakfast sandwich is crazy.

Most likely, but I haven't looked at the dinner prices in over a year so I wasn't sure. I was just looking at lunch ones yesterday for budgeting purposes.

The steak was $32.99, which was already exorbitant.

Yeah, just noticed the lunch price increase too (though someone else already mentioned). I will say that we really enjoyed our lunch there last October, though we were on the DDP. Lunch is now as expensive as The Plaza.
