BDRog, what are you gonna do now that Mardi Gras......I GOT A CART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is nice.....well out of my range though. Mine will blow that away when Im done with it, maybe not in speed and/ or torque...but definately in looks. I'll ALWAYS have a kid on mine with me...so I really have no use for much speed.....its a real pain having to hang a u-turn and run back to pick them up in the middle of the road...then they're all whiney and bleeding all over the new seat covers, knowing you JUST armor-alled them, but do they take that into consideration before they start dropping tears all over the freshly polished chrome???? HECK NO!!! Kids are heartless!!!

I like the roll bar and short windshield on that pink yami.....I wonder if those are readily available for club cars?

Thanks LStar....that ones also on ebay...I have it on watch.

I have nothing to back this up aside from remarks I have read online that may or may not be true. One is that the cost of batteries is expensive but compareable to the cost of recomended maintenance on a gasser. I also read that some campgrounds are beginning to not allow gas carts. Like I said these couls be rumors but, we decided on electric just in case. You can spend the money to upgrade an electric to go faster ( Motor and/or gears ) and I don't think I will ever have the need to ride longer than the batteries would last in a day. I make a habit of plugging in every night for a full charge the next day. This may not be condusive for everyone but, we only use ours for camping, the rest of the year it sits in the garage waiting for my next custom Idea.

Mike...Ive heard and read all the same comments you've mentioned. I am definately in the electric search. I wont be doing anything with mine but mainly the Ft, maybe a little around the neighborhood,...but garaged and in transition will be its main function till I hit the "too much is finally enough" mark. Most of the St Parks around here dont allow carts at all as a rule, but they turn their heads on alot of rules that are silly like that...like being in LA and not drinking while camping??? Whoever heard of such a thing...its also illegal to shoot free range buffalo from a moving vehicle in LA....I dont think we've ever even had free range buffalo in LA, that may be because of all the drive bys we've done on them!!!

This was our cart last summer...don't know if you can make out the graphics on the cart. I need to take some better shots. Only one I can find right now. My son is driving and that is his friend in the passanger seat. My husband would like to lift the cart this winter, I worry that's not such a good idea with teenagers using it. We'll see.

Wow.....what a looker.....did ya'll make that rear seat yourselves? Ive never seen one exactly like that.....I really like it.

:cutie: Thanks, No it's a stock seat..ordered it from Buggies Unlimited for the year and make of the cart. Probably looks a little different because we decided to match the chrome..instead of ordering in black trim. We also needed a gas cap cover..which we hadn't put on when that photo was taken.

Wow, I'm sure it's not because you are from New York and all, but that campground sure looks like Fort Myers in Mocksville, NC!

I would not have noticed the missing gas cover if you would not have mentioned it. On my cart the gas tank is under the front seat and thats where you fill it.

It's actually on our seasonal site..which we love. Alpine Lake RV Resort in Corinth NY, about 10 minutes from the "real" Saratoga Springs! We lucked into this spot..it was occupied for years by the same camper. We were looking for a seasonal site, and the campground called and said they had an opening. Since the former occupants kept their leaving to themselves, no one else who was seasonal was on the usually long waiting list for this particular site. It's private enough that are neighbors are near..but not too near. Campground has two lakes and my sons like to fish(it's catch and release) but the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers are nearby also..my older guy has a kayak. So we get good use of the trailer and the area.
Oh..and if you look in the background..it's my twist on the "Mickey light post"...I made one out of an oar from our canoe!

I've been getting some horror storys about lifted carts. Friend down the street broke his leg last year when the one he was riding in rolled over. Since then I've heard of that happening quite often with the lifted ones. Customer told me that he was just driving down the road and one wheel hit a pothole, snatched the wheel out of his hands and over he went.

WOW so much to say,
In my opinion Club Car makes the best carts (but most expensive) Why? aluminum frame, 48 volt (lots more power upgrades then a 36 volt) BUT Club car made a 36 volt resistor cart (PLEASE STAY AWAY ITS TRASH) they have no upgrades and If you do you will have to change tons of stuff to get it to 48 volt look to spend over $1,000 to get it to 48 volt.

Ez-go makes great carts too and they are cheaper they are only 36 volt but my green cart I upgraded a few things and it will flat out run 27mph.

Yamaha's are not as popular as the Club Car or ez-gos but they are good too. If you are looking for speed gas Yamaha's are fast with little to no upgrades.

As for converting a cart to 72 or106 volts can be done but expect to get way less run time, more amps= less run time!!

Benefits of electric;
most campgrounds are electric only
no noise, fumes oil leaking

Benefits of gas:
no charging or waiting, pour it in and go
no loss of power after batts get low, run your lights all night
no changing new batts after a few years your looking at around $600
no batt leaking stuff on the floor from overfilling batts

PS if you have lots of corrosion on your cables mix up some baking soda and water in a spray bottle spray all connections and hose off, it works the best.

As for lifted carts, yes they are dangerous, most all lift kits have a warning to them, so keep in mind to slow down around corners. I have a lifted cart but will not flip like a regular lifted cart. My cart has a full a-arm front suspension with a 3-link rear which lets the suspension move rather then a regular leaf spring cart lets the whole cart lean. Long as your not getting careless lift kits are neat as well as going over stuff without bottoming out. Jakes is about the best cart lift kit the only one better that I know is made by Terra Toys (which I have cost for lift around $2,000 (Lift Only)

Tungpo1,

Where do you purchase parts for your carts? I'm hoping online? A while back someone (not sure if it was you) posted a link to a site that carried parts at good prices. Was that you? Thanks!

Hey Ron, the new site looks much better. You need a Gatorcart on there to really wow the masses...:rotfl2:

My husband likes the way they look lifted..as do I. ;) Only I worry about it rolling over..:scared1: Since I do have a teenage son who uses it also(let's face it..it's one of the ways we still get him to camp with us at this point!) I am hesitant to lift it. I know it changes the center of gravity, and it doesn't take much. Especially with a 16 year old boy behind the wheel. While he may be telling us he's careful, it's common knowledge that around that age aliens take over their bodies,:cool2: and cause them to do things that are "out of this world" stupid! :sad2: Not to mention they are extremely charming little liars!..but that's another post. There's "mom careful":cutie: ..and then there's 16 year old boy careful":moped: !
I think it will stay "grounded" for the time being.
