We belong to DVC and have always stayed at the VWL. We are hoping to venture out and stay at the BCV. I am looking for any information on the Beach Club and BCV. What did you like or not like? Where did you like to eat? In the villas, is there a part of the building you like to stay in? What do you like about it? Can you see parts of Epcot from any of the rooms? Someone told me there is a road that runs behind the building, is this an issue? Is there a movie on the beach? I am having trouble finding this information. Any information you can give me would be wonderful. Thank you

What did you like or not like?

>> The poolis the best around. I think it is wrappingup rehab, so should be even better soon.


Where did you like to eat?

>> There are several places to eat at the BC. Great steak place, but expensive. Beaches and Cream Ice Cream place, plus you have the entire boardwalk and all the other resorts to eat at within walking distance.

In the villas, is there a part of the building you like to stay in? What do you like about it? Can you see parts of Epcot from any of the rooms? Someone told me there is a road that runs behind the building, is this an issue?

>> I have stayed twice. Both times the view has been mostly woods, but nice.
You could see the very tip top of the epcot ball. Yes there is a road also near the very back. You can not hear it from the room.

Is there a movie on the beach?

>> Yes they have movies and a bonfire also. Not sure what days, but you get an activity sheet when you check in.

I am having trouble finding this information. Any information you can give me would be wonderful. Thank you

VWL is our first love, but we bought points at BCV after staying there, and realizing that it would be a great place to bring out DGC for the pool. Since I know we want the Dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 Q's, I felt that adding on was better than taking our chances at 7 months.

What do we like? Well, the location is wonderful. There is a little gate that leads to a path in back of the BC, and it's like your own special path to Epcot! I think the villa pool is nicely situated, the bathroom/changing areas have always been clean and well maintained. There is the canal right there, and the dunes to the left facing the canal all make it a very pretty setting for swimming and relaxing. ( I also love the VWL villa pool, with the evergreens, the little springs in the pool, and the whirlpool right there, it's a favorite spot at VWL for me.) SAB is more crazy, busy and harder to get a chair at, but SAB can't be beat for people who enjoy the wonderful alternatives to just a pool that it provides.

Before we owned at BCV, we stayed exclusively in studios, and I've had about 6 of them, different locations, and I have experienced and have been bothered by the road noise. However, I've become more mellow, I suppose, recently I had a dedicated studio that was very close to the exit out to the villa pool. It was on the first floor, so on the patio, I was pretty close to the road, but still, I was able to sit out there and read and just enjoy myself.

I enjoy the fresh salad that they make for you at the BC Marketplace, and I do enjoy the clam chowder, and some of the desserts that they offer are excellent. There's a bar with coconut, nuts and chocolate that I can break and enjoy 3 different times, and each tasting is so satisfying. I have no idea how many calories are in that bar, but I think it's worth every one of them!

Yes, there are movies on the beach and there's a fire pit off to the side. There's an evening program there before hand.

I think that a good location is overlooking the canal, quiet pool, and another one overlooks the path that leads back to the lobby of the BC. You don't see fireworks from either, but except for the time that I was annoyed by the road, (and since have had other rooms in that same area, and I'm no longer annoyed) each BCV stay has been wonderful. It is when you are facing the road or the woods from your balcony that you can see some of Illuminations.

BCV offers so many choices for dining. There's Cape May Cafe (including the Character Breakfast) and Beaches and Cream. We love Yachtsman Steakhouse. And since Epcot is so close, we'll eat at World Showcase.

We also love Stormalong Bay.

The views at BCV are so-so. We've been stuck with the road view once.

The only drawback is that if you want a legitimate take out like Wilderness lodges Roaring Forks Snacks, you will not find such a place at the Beach Club. The gift shop only offers cold sandwiches and Beaches and Cream don’t allow you take out meals, only ice cream and drinks. Hurricane Hanna’s Grill only offers a very limited hot lunch/dinner menu and only until 8pm (weather permitting). The Boardwalk, likewise has very limited “to-go” offerings. As far as I know ESPN Club does not allow take-outs.

We love the BCV and I agree with the PP's.
DVC Grandpa is correct - CS type food is very limited in the Epcot Resort location. We supplement our DDP with wegoshop.com for breakfast foods, drinks and snacks for the Villa.
The views aren't great, like a Boardwalk view would be. But we love the view of the canal and the quiet pool. Some do complain about the noise from the Service Road. We have been in that area in the past and never noticed it in the room if the balcony doors were closed. Even during the day, I enjoyed watching the various buses - it never bothered me at all.
We love the location. We walk to both the International Gateway in Epcot and to the DHS. However you can take a boat to both if you choose.
I think the dining choices are the best there are. You have all of the restaurants of the YC/BC right there as well as a short stroll to everything on the Boardwalk as well as the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin. We are Epcot lovers and eat several dinners in the International restaurants a short walk away in WS.
SAB is the best pool on property for some action. We enjoy it very much, especially with a cold beverage from Hurricane Hannah's. We also enjoy the quiet pool at the Villas.

Just stayed at the BCV for the first time a few weeks ago. We own at BWV and Bay Lake. We really enjoyed the beach club. We loved the little secret walkway to Epcot, luckily someone clued us in about that. We enjoyed the pool and I saw no renovations going on so I guess they were done ahead of schedule. We enjoyed llunch in beaches and cream twice, which was a lot of fun. Our balcony faced the service road that was spoken of, but it couldn't have been quieter in the room, we had no problem at all with it. I was also concerned about food offerings. We are used to going down to the bakery and bringing up stuff for breakfast at the boardwalk, but it was actually a shorter walk to the little store ( forgot the name) and they made some decent croissant sandwhiches and we were able to buy bagels, butter, donuts, milk, juice, etc... at the store and had a pretty effortless bkfst in our room. We would stay at BCV again. Enjoy your trip!

Lots of great restaurants IF you want sit-down---some very expensive ones. There is a severe shortage of any quick or counter service type (i.e. inexpensive) restaurants. There are ones in Epcot, but you have to use your pass to get to them.
