i have been looking through resale and noticed the price difference between BCV and BWV. Why? Also, out of all the resale, what would be the best resale to buy?

The reason for the price difference is the number of units available at BCV. There are fewer than BWV therefore driving the $ up. Supply and Demand.

As for which one should you buy, which one do you want 11 month priority at?

BCV is also newer resort which means the starting price is higher and it is closer to EPCOT than BWV.
BW also has higher maintenance fee.

Altho I still love my BWV rooms compared to BCV... :)

I think there was a slight imbalance in supply/demand, which has lead to a more significant increase in price.

Smaller resort + better pool = tighter supply and more demand. That led to higher prices for BCV. Which led to people wanting to use the 11-month window being the main folks buying resale. Which made it tougher to get in at the 7-month window. Which increased demand. Which pushed up prices. Which led to buyers using the 11-month window more. Etc.

To defend BWV, having the choice of standard or boardwalk view is absolutely fantastic!!!

Like others have said, the pool and the lower # of villas at BCV explain the differences in prices. BWV also has higher maintenance fees, which will cost you in the end.

Others have said that the higher maintenance fees are due to the existence of the standard points. Basically, to have std. points - bwv couldn't sell as many points - so therefore maintenance fees are higher.

I personally think BWV is a better value, but my opinion may be biased.

I'd vote for BWV over BCV due to the cheaper cost for points on any comparable date given the standard view points vs preferred. My g-kids also like the shows on the Boardwalk in the early evening and my kids like Jellyrolls for a pleasant night out.

BCV has an outstanding pool and you have earlier access to the busses as plusses but the potential for an extra night wins the day for me

To seriously bottom-line the discussion, it's Stormalong Bay at BCV vs the Boardwalk view at BWV.

We have stayed at both, we are kicking around buying more points at BWV, we own at SSR now but only stay at BWV. Therefore making the conclusion that we should purchase into the villas that we like the most wright????????????? I vote for BWV, love everything about the villa, we eat at Spoodles a lot as well as ESPN club. So do we buy or not????????????

Jrpbabe2003, I am having the same debate. I am thinking that I would like to have some points at one of the EPCOT resorts for F&WF. My plan is to try them both during my December trip so that I can base my decision on my experience.

someone mentioned dues are higher at bwv, anyone know how much differnt in in cost dues are for the same number of points? Like 150 points.

I was also wondering. Does anyone know the ratio of standard view rooms, vs the boardwalk and preferred rooms?

Is a standard view a parking lot view? Whats a preferred view?

TIA

For 2008, BWV was $5.04/pt. & BCV was $4.80/pt. That comes out to a difference of $36.00. ($756 vs. $720) Keep in mind however, BCV studio in adventure season is 12 pts., and only 9 pts. at BWV standard, for instance.

$5.04 X 9 = $45.36
$4.80 X 12 = $57.60

BWV are approximately 20% standard, 20% Boardwalk, 60% preferred. Some preferred views look out over the village green which is a pretty good side view of the boardwalk. Other preferred view overlook the pool area, and maybe the canal. BWV pool slide has theming issues. Do you like clowns? Actually there are a few theming issues at BWV, like those chairs. I digress.

DH and I have stayed in the standard view and were very pleased. We could see the road and parking lot in the distance, but in reality I would have called it a lawn view. We had about 50-100 feet of really pretty grass in front of our balcony.

Some standard views are very nice, and then there are those very special 1 bedrooms on the very end. Holy mackeral! I want to get one of those rooms! They have a great view, and are as big as OKW. I think there are 3 of them.

Well, I had the 1 bedroom at the other, other end of the hallway (accross from the elevator). That view was pretty bad, it looked right into the side of the front entrance. We had a wonderful view of Magical Express busses letting people off into the resort.Thank goodness it was only for one night. I might try standard view one more time, but if I get that view or similar again, I'm stick'in with BW View.::yes::

We had the similar view once. The DME bus wasn't too bad... but the luggage delivery trucks in the middle of the night were the pits!!!

Love....Love....Love....BCV:cool1:

BCV has the biggest demand due to resort size, location, SAB. IMHO also the best resort!

LOL, this was the view we had last May for 6 nights and we were fine with it. I loved being right off the elevator. We're not really "sit on the balcony" people, so I was more thrilled with how conveinent the room was.

I've never had a BW view, so that's probably why we were so fine with the standard. A great use of points for us! :thumbsup2

I agree! We just bought a resale @ BWV after staying there in February. We walked over to BCV to be sure which resale we would go for. We liked the idea of staying at a main resort instead of a small one tucked behind a main resort. Also, the standard view points are a bargain, and you can get much more out of your points. The difference in dues was minimal. BCV does have a 5 minute walk to Epcot instead of a 10 minute from BWV, but that was the only thing it had over BWV when we made our decision.
Good luck! You'll love either one.
