BCV Visit

My husband, parents and I just got back from a WONDERFUL 11 night stay at our home resort, BCV. After reading some of the "Trip from Hell" post I feel like I shoud give my report of our trip. We got "home" on May 1 at about 1:00 p.m. and got 2 "Welcome Home's" within minutes (warm fuzzy ). We weren't sure if we would be able to check in right away, but we did, no problem. We had a two bedroom dedicated (Room 442) with an Epcot view, which I loved (I got up one night to get some water from the fridge and was greeted by a view of a huge purple planet outside the window - it was awesome). The whole place was great!! The ONE problem that I can report with the room itself was a small hole in one door in the master bedroom - not a big deal. It was free of bugs, clean and well maintained. There was never any noise and all cast members that we ran into were very pleasant to us.

The bottom line is this. Please, remeber that bad things can happen no matter WHERE you stay. Don't not give some place a chance just because one or two people had a bad experience. If one or two things happen that you don't like, move on. Let the magic of Disney take over and have the best trip of your life - YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Glad you had such a wonderful trip. We also love BCV, and plan to add on there on June 1st. It's a wonderful place, but then, we haven't yet found any DVC property that wasn't.

Though there are occasional disasters, attitude is so very important. The magic always does it for us, too.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. We have had three rooms so far at BCV (all short stays) and all were fine. One room had a couple of minor problems but as soon as we called, help was sent up. We go back next month...cleared the wait list just the other day...and I'm really looking forward to it.

Wow, that's great! We are thinking of combining our bi-annual trip so we can go for 11 or 12 days at the beginning of May. What was it like to stay in BCV for that long in May? Would you do it again?

I would definitely stay that long again ANYWHERE at Disney!! I've seen all of the places, and they all have their own special "thing". I like the action at BCV, being on the boardwalk and so close to Epcot. But I also loved the peacefulness of the Wilderness Lodge. And I really liked what I saw of OKW when we drove through. And we have been to Disney 3 times in May, two at the beginning of the month and one at the end. We found that we liked going early in the month - it is a little cooler and the crowds aren't as heavy.

The longer we stayed, the more it felt like home - we were getting used to where things were and were very confortable with our room. We had our routine (park in the morning and afternoon by the pool most days then out for the night). I could feel myself become more relaxed than I have been in a LONG time! I only wish that I could keep that Disney feeling at home!!!

Bottom line -- the longer at Disney the better!!! Hope you have fun planning your trip!!

LOL! Sometimes on a long trip DVC trip I start to look for the mail.

I'm so glad to hear you had a great trip and thanks for sharing your thoughts. It'll probably help those who are concerned by the run of negative reports.

mrsdopey13, we checked in the same day as you! It was our first time at bcv, beautiful resort, great to be so close to Epcot, but.....I really missed the vwl! We've only stayed at vwl 3 times, but it just feels much more like "home" to us! Glad you had a good time!
