I remember from a stay in 2000 that the bus to the MK from the YC/BC was shared by the BWI, BWV , Swan and Dolphin. Is that still true now with the addition of the BWV?

Yes. Although sometimes, when it is busy, they will run two sets of busses: 1 for YC/BC/BW and another for Sw/Dolph.

The resorts around that lake, Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach, etc., are really for people who are either driving a car, or don't plan to spend much time at the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. The bus service is frustrating because it stops at every resort around the lake. They're best to stay in when you want to spend most of your time walking to Epcot or MGM.

We just got back from BCV 2 weeks ago and the busses to MK and AK picked up at the Yacht Club first, then the Beach Club (that's where you get picked up) then to the Boarwalk Villas. The Swan and Dolphin are no longer on the run. :D

The only time that there was an issue with the busses was late in the evening when DW came back from Downtown Disney. It stopped everywhere!!!

MGM and Epcot are Boat runs and Epcot you can also walk to.

I asked the question about the routes last week and was told the same as HookdonWDW. If the busses are busy, they will split the Swan/Dolphin off and run the BC/YC/BW separately.
We were staying at VWL and went over to the BC and noticed a different bus setup at the MK.

I respectfully disagree. We NEVER get a car when we are at BWV. The bus takes us directly to the parks, including MK and AK with no stops. Going back to BWV, the last time we went in Feb, the bus still stopped at Swan, Dolphin , Yacht and Beach before BWV, but it was not intolerable. If really anxious to get off, we could get off at the first stop, Swan, and walk across the bridge to BWV.

Being new to DVC, I am a little confused about some of the perks involved with ownership. With ownership do we get free parking at the parks? We will be staying at BCV in September and we will have a rental car.

My other question is this, since BCV is within walking distance of Epcot, is it possible to walk to Epcot and then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom?

Parking is free at the parks for DVC members, although we never get a car.

As far as walking to the monorail, yes this is possible, although, just in case you didn't know, the place you walk to from the Epcot resorts takes you to into Epcot at the International Gateway which is by the UK in the World Showcase. It is a bit of a walk from there to the front. It could be a bit quicker then the bus, if the bus just left or it could be about the same if it bus is at the front waiting for you.

Anyone staying at a Disney resort, DVC or otherwise, gets free parking everywhere. The separate parking DVC perk is that we can valet park for free (but you need to tip) at BC, BW, and WL while regular quests are charged $6 a day. The bus to MK from BCV (about 20 to 25 minutes) is faster than walking through Epcot and then taking a monoral to TTC and another to MK (total trip time 45 minutes or possibly longer). If you have a car at BCV, much faster to drive to AK or Downtown Disney than take the bus but bus is still best to MK.

We stayed at the Dolphin several times before we purchased BWV. In all our stays, the only bus problem we had was going to Downtown Disney. Those buses don't seem to run as frequently and we had long waits. Otherwise, we had no problems at all. We usually walked through Epcot to catch the monorail, but we are both walkers and enjoy it. This year we caught the bus to MK from BWV -- everything went smoothly. Hope you have a great time

We usually take a taxi to Downtown and back. We always shop last at the World of Disney, and that's where the taxi's drop off and pick up. It costs between 7-9 dollars. (Don;t ask about the $7 ride, a little scary!!! :earseek:

It works out great for us, we spend most of our time at Epcot.
