I just got off of the phone with MS and I was able to get my ressie for my trip in September. We were able to get a 1BR at BCV for the 17th-25th.

This will be our first trip to the Epcot Resort area and my DS Caleb's first trip to WDW. I cannot wait.

Having never stayed at the BCV, what tips can you give us? We have eaten at Beaches and Cream, but that is about the extent of our experience.

Tell me all about it.

BCV is our home resort and we love the location!! We enjoy the short walk to Epcot and try to make it over to the Boardwalk at least one time during our stay. If you have time you really should stroll over to the Boardwalk area one evening. There are some neat shops and live entertainment. Be sure and check out Stormalong Bay, too!! The character breakfast at Cape May is great--it has Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale all in their beach clothes. It is usually not very busy so the character interaction is wonderful.

Cape May for breakfast would be worth it even if there were not characters. Make dinner Ressies in Epcot for some of the great restaurants over there. It is so nice to be able to wander over to the World Showcase and eat. SAB is great as previously mentioned. It is a great resort and our only regret was not purchasing it as our home resort. We will be there the day after you leave.

If you walk down to the beach area, there are machines (like gumball machines) that sell what is supposed to be fish food, but the ducks love it as well. They hang around and "talk" to you. My dd is 3, and my parents took her every night on their way back to the room and let her "feed the ducks". It was one of her favorite things to do.

Also, make sure you take your son into the sand dunes play area of SAB. It would be shallow enough for him to stand, and a great way to introduce him to swimming.

Don't miss the gelato at the general store (actually, all the food in there is good).

A few things I really enjoy at BCV, beyond what's already been mentioned:
1. Go over to the beach facing BWV in the evening. Find a beach swing, take off your shoes, and sit and watch the boats and the lights for a while.
2. Go over to the sand, beach area part of SAB (I think it's called the kiddie area). Again, take off your shoes, squish your toes in the sand in the water (that's the closest I get to swimming!)
3. Grab something to read and go to either the Drawing Room or the room across the way (can't remember the name), curl up in a chair or couch, and read for a while (the Drawing Room has a TV showing Disney movies, so you can do this while your kids are with you, being entertained with the TV)
4. And of course that gelato!

I agree with all of the previous posts about all the things to enjoy at BCV. We also enjoy the restaurants at the Yacht Club - the galley has an excellent breakfast buffet (no characters, though) and a very nice a la carte menu as well. Stormalong Bay is a vacation in itself and fun for all ages. :boat:

Be sure you can find the shortcut to Epcot....saves a lot of walkiing...it is back behind the Beach Club..
Avoid the rooms on the 5th floor with the puny balconies...

Great resort...make sure you have time to hang around and enjoy it...
