I am not a DVC owner, but I think I might prefer a BCV studio over the regular BC room. I tried to rent points, but the studios are gone for when we are going.

So now, I am thinking of just reserving a BCV thru Disney. Would you say the studio is "better" than the BC standard room? I'm not sure of the size difference, but I have heard that all BCV has a regular size balcony and not all BC rooms do.

Any other pros or cons to renting a BCV studio over a standard BC room? Thanks for your help!!

A BCV studio will have a queen bed and a double sofabed. A BC standard room will have 2 queens and possibly a daybed. The BCV studio will have a microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, small fridge. The BC standard room will just have a coffeemaker & small fridge.

I think it depends on the size of your party and ages. If it's a couple, the studio setup is good, you can use the queen bed and leave the sofa closed, which gives alot of space. I see in your signature that you have kids 5 & 1.5. Will they be OK sleeping on the sofabed together? If you get the standard room with the daybed, one could comfortably sleep on the daybed.

I would only go for the studio if you are going to use the microwave & toaster. Otherwise, you'll have more room in the standard room.

Interesting question. Mom went with me to WDW and we stayed at BCV. Then Mom and Dad went by themselves and stayed in a BC room. I'll have to ask Mom what differences she noted.

For a BCV studio, many families with children under 2 get a Pack n Play crib and put it in the nook near the closet/bathroom, allowing the parents to sleep on the Queen bed and an older child to sleep in the double bed.

BC rooms are also more "deluxe" than the BCV properties, in terms of the furnishings, bedding, etc.

I agree that for a couple - the extra space in a BCV studio is great. If I had more then 2 people and was making the choice, I would most likely pick the BC because the rooms are just nicer and you have 2 regular beds.

If I was sharing a bed, I'd get the BC because I could get a bed to myself and my husband could get the other. Our son could sleep in the day bed.

At BCV, we'd have to share the queen sized bed and our son would be on the sleeper sofa.

Studio or Deluxe room, I would pick the deluxe room. We love DVC for the one and two bedroom and grand villas.

I agree with many other PP. I love my BCV DVC!!! And a I would choose a studio in BCV over a regular room at BC for the 2 of us. But the real joy for families are the 1 and 2 bedroom vacation homes, with full kitchens, washer & dryer etc.
Yes all Villas have full balconies, and you might not get that at the BC.
But as previously stated the BC rooms have a more "deluxe" feel while the villas have a homier feel.
It is really a matter of personal choice
Good Luck

The views from a BC room can be better from a BCV room. None of the BCV rooms has a view of the lake.

We are staying at BCV in May/June for the first time. I really hope it is nice since I did a little arm twisting to get my husband to buy our 200 SSR points a few months ago. He is expecting luxury.
