BCV Studio Question

I know that I have seen on one of these posts what kind of coffee makers are in the studios? Are they the smaller 4 cup ones? And is it a basket filter or the cone type? I'm not too fond of the disney coffee so I'd like to bring my own. Also, do they provide suger or sweet n low?

And what about plates and forks, knives, etc.? We'd like to eat breakfast in the room but probably nothing else. There is a toaster right?

I think my other concern is the towels, I know we get 4 when we check in and can order more but I have read posts that say you can take them from the pool. Do many people do this? We would return them to the pool later but I don't want to look like I'm stealing them. :rolleyes2

This is going to be our first DVC trip... we have so much to learn

Let's see if I can remember from our Jan trip.

1. The coffee maker is the smaller 4 cup and I believe it is the cone type. (We didn't use it.) They do provide coffee mugs and some sweetener/sugar packets, but not alot.

2. As far as the kitchen ware. You'll have a set of 4 paper plates & bowls, and plastic forks, knives and spoons. There are also 4 real glasses (highball size).

3. I think there was a toaster. We used the micro for frozen pancakes, so I'm not sure.

4. Towels... there were 4 full sets of towels. We didn't go to the pool, but I don't see why you couldn't carry them to the room. I'm sure many people wrap themselves in a towel after swimming and go back to the room with it.

If memory serves I believe it is a regular size coffee maker 8 cups I think,
they provide paper plates, bowls and plastic utensils, they do have sugar and sweet-n -low packets, as well as powdered creamer, but you can get some real milk or half and half from the store. Bringing a couple of towels from the pool is usually not a problem, we've done it on occasion. There is a toaster and microwave, refrig. is only a small undercounter model.

Have a great trip
I'll be back there for my 11th stay at BCV in about a month, best DVC Resort IMHO.

Just came back from BCV and had a studio. Our coffee maker was a 12 cup and there is a toaster and a microwave. The new marketplace was very convenient too. We were able to get essentials and foodie items. It was also great for a quick 'on-the-go' hot breakfast.

where did you get your frozen pancakes and was the freezer ok to fit them in? also what do i do about laundry in a studio, someone said "free" but i'm not sure what that means? can a gallon of milk fit in the little fridge?

I bring basket-type filters and they work fine. Our coffee pot in the studio was a small one, 4 or 6 cups.

Sorry don't know where to get pancakes but the freezer compartment can fit a few things so I don't think this will be a problem. As for laundry, it is on the 4th floor opposite studio 416 near the elevators, the cost is $2.00 per load, you can buy detergent from a vending machine. The fridge is sufficient to hold a gallon of milk although you may have to remove one of the shelves.

Have a great stay.

The laundry is actually free. It looks like you need to put money in but will work without it.

We have always had a small (4-6 cups) basket type coffee maker in the studios.

The freezer section is very, very small. It goes the width and depth of the fridge, but it is only about 4" in height. I suggest you go to a store and look at the mini-fridges to get an idea how they are laid out.

Mousekeeping will often forget to replenish the paper products, or you may find that they over-supply. I have yet to find any studio with exactly the stated "4" of everything! Just call and ask for extras. Remember there are no metal utensils- I pack my own in the checked bag.

The laundry is free (not $2 per load as someone else has stated.) I bring detergent in the little snack size zip lock bags, or the tablet kind. There is also a laundry near the BC quiet pool, but I believe that one you do have to pay for because it is the hotel, not the DVC.

Sorry,

I had stated previously that it cost $2.00 for a load of washing. Of course I wash wrong, my wife has said that I will do more washing in the near future as a penance. Laundry is free to members
