First, we are not asking about letting our friends swim in SAB while they are staying at OKW.
What I am having trouble visualizing is if their is some place we can sit and have a drink and be available for the kids while they swim? The kids are DD and our friends' daughter, both 11. I have added the friends' daughter to our reservation as she plans to spend several nights in our villa. She will have a room key for BCV. They're big enough I and DF don't have to always have them in our line of sight, but we aren't comfortable letting them go by themselves.

There are porches around the BC area (I think to the left of B&C as you look at the pool) that look out directly onto the pool, are in the shade and have recliners and rockers.

And if the pool isn't full, you can probably sit at one of the pool tables also. We had a treat from B&C once and asked a lifeguard and they told us to go ahead. So we just sat and sipped our malts and relaxed in the shade.

I believe there are tables around the area of Hurricane Hannas (which would also be for people just stopping there for a drink). That might be an easy landmark for the kids to find you. SAB can get confusing for kids to find their way back to lounge chair areas depending upon where you are set up.

I was there in May for a business trip. I needed my mom to come and watch my dd while I worked, so we invited her and my stepdad to stay on my points at BCV. They had a studio, so I signed my dh and dd into my parents studio. I would come by in the evenings and my dh and dd would swim, while I would relax in a beach chair. I have never seen lifeguards say anything to anyone who did not have a wristband and was inside SAB if they were wearing "street clothes" and not a bathing suit. I always walk thru SAB to get to B&C, and I have never personally stayed at Beach Club. No one has ever said anything to me...well, except, "Hi"....the lifeguards are really nice!!!

It was funny though, I went to the front desk to p/u the room keys for my dd and dh while they were "pin trading" with cm's, and the girl at the front desk repeated THREE times, that there was no key for me, and I should NOT be expecting to stay in the room with my dh and dd!!!! :rotfl: It was really funny!! I had to explain to her that even my dh and dd would not be staying in the room...we had rooms elsewhere. Then I added, "I just signed them in so they could swim at SAB and we could get a parking pass"....boy, did I get the "trashy DVC people" look then!!!! Whatever!!! I can sign 4 people into a studio....so I did!!! My mom and stepdad didn't rent a car....so, why not use their parking pass to come and go easily when dropping off and picking up my dd! I LOVE Beach Club....but, sometimes the snottiness of CM's there DRIVES me crazy!!!!

Anyway....I digress!!! The lifeguards have ALWAYS been really sweet to us there, whether we are swimming or just "passing thru"....don't sweat it!!!!

At the BCV is a bar called Marthas Vineyard, right across from the SAB slide, just inside the door. the bar is all opened and it takes a second to open the door and stand on the porch to look for the kids on the SAB slide & whirlpool side. Their are 2 life guards that sit on that side. But if you feel more comfy then you maybe able to sit at the back tables inside the pool area or on the porch down by the yC , althought that side of the pool is for kiddies and the 2 11 years old be get bored with that side.

We've stayed at BC/BCV 6-7 times now and I've never visited SAB in street clothes, so I appreciate the info on how the lifeguards will probably treat us. Don't think DF will be comfortable with Martha's Vineyard, but I will point it out to her, especially if it is steamy hot ;) . I have been over to Hurricane Hanna's twice, so wasn't getting a clear memory of the area.
