BCV room quality

My home resort is OKW and we just booked BCV for the first time. A friend stated that they had a not - so - great experience at this resort because their room had not been updated and was not in "Disney" condition.

Has anyone else experienced this at BCV? If so, when was it? And does anyone know of a refurbishment schedule for this resort?

BCV has had their refurb postponed twice. It's a bit ragged around the edges.

Refurb is supposed to start very soon. I think they're holding until Boardwalk is done, but don't commit me to that.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom at BCV last April and just stayed in a refurbished 1-bedroom at BWV over Christmas. Honestly, we liked them both! Yes, BCV was a little worn, but it's proximity to EP, Stormalong Bay, etc. simply can't be beat. I would absolutely stay there again, refurbed or not.

The renovations on the Beach Club Villas are supposed to start this week according to what I have read, and are scheduled to be completed in August. I believe the source of the info was the DVC members meeting.

Better yet is to check the DIS DVC boards instead of the Resort board.
