BCV questions

Just counting the days (and months!) til summer arrives and we can head off to Florida for our very first WDW visit! We're staying at the BCV in a one bedroom and I have a few questions I hope some of you can help me with.

First, where and how close is a Publix grocery store to the BCV? I mean, is it near the entrance or will we have to drive a long distance to get to Publix?

Second, it seems I read a while back that towels are provided at Stormalong Bay for guest of BCV, BC and YC...is this correct? We won't have to bring those heavy beach towels with us, they'll just have towels there by the pool for us to use?

And last (this has been driving me nuts!), I requested a nonsmoking room with a water view. I told them the nonsmoking request was due to my daughter's severe allergies to smoke and they seemed to feel I would have no problem with that request. Then the water view request, they said they would put it in the computer but no guarentee. Now I don't know if that was even a good request to make. Was it? Should I have requested an Epcot view? I don't know if I'm more concerned that I won't get a water view room or that I WILL and then wish I had something else! LOL How goofy does that sound? Anyway, any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance for all your help!! :smooth:

Publix is a long drive, several miles.

Towels are provided.

You can call back and change your request to Epcot view, but like they said it's only a request, no views are guaranteed. With your daughter's allergies I would fax BCV's a few days before you arrive and let them know. :)

Have a great trip. :)

Publix is a haul. The Winn Dixie is closer, about 1 mile from the Crossroads.

Requests are just that, requests. Every resort on Disney property will tell you that. That being said, I don't think that there are any water views. You might get a view of the canal or a view of the quiet pool, but there aren't really any rooms that Crescent Lake if that's what you are looking for.
