I have just posted on the rent board to rent some points for BCV in September.

After the reservation has been made, can I call the resort and request a certain floor/view?

When is the best time to do that? Can I ask at check in what view or floor we have and request a change if needed? I have only ever stayed at the non-DVC resorts so I don't know completely how the DVC rooms work.

Also, can any BCV veterans recommend a certain floor or area to request or are they all pretty great? We are renting a studio. Thanks for your help!!

If you're staying on points, the DVC member can make the requests for you at the time of the reservation. Please note that you cannot make an Epcot view request.

Here's some detailed info on BCV, including which rooms have small balconies.

Have the member note your request on the reservation. And remember requests are just that, requests. DVC can't guarantee you'll get what you ask. It depends on how full they are and when you check in.

Also, if you ask for a change after check in, there is a $25.00 room change fee.

Well, in terms of requests, I'd limit yourself to a smoking preference and one other request, tops. If you get too many details, the room assignor will not be able to accomodate you.

With that in mind, is there anything that is important to you?
~ Close to SAB
~ Near an elevator
~ Near the parking lot
~ Something else?

With regard to view, you need to evaluate what your travel habits are. Are you a commando theme park person? Because if you are up at dawn and out till late in the evening, you aren't really there to enjoy whatever view you get so that really shouldn't be high on your priority list.

If you are someone who plans to spend a significant time in your room, on your balcony or patio, then I can see where a view might be a slightly more important for your vacation.

So decide that one thing that's important and request that. Just don't be surprised if you don't get it and accept what you get gracefully. Since this resort is nearly 100% fully occupied year-round, there's usually not many other options for you.

Have a nice trip.

Watch out on renting, you can get addicted. I did and now own.
