Forgive me if this has been asked before. Okay so part of our waitlist came through for BCV :cool1:. We have a studio for 2 nights in December that my parents will stay in and my family will be at AKV. My question is that since my parents are staying at BCV will my mom and I be able to bring my 5year old swimming there since my mom will be the only guest staying at the resort? Thanks for your help!!

I believe they can only "legally" do this if they register her in their room for a day and she has a card key. How old is she?

yes, if you and your 5yo want to join your mother to use stormalong bay at BCV, you and your 5yo would need to have your names added to the reservation at BCV. you would both need BCV room keys.

otherwise, it'll be a no-go.

Just wanted to mention that if someone registers their names at a different resort, that causes a problem because you can only be registered for one resort at a time. Keep this in mind when you go to the front desk. Recently we were at the BWV in a studio and was not going to check out until Sunday, but my daughter arrived on Saturday and we were going to move in with her on Sunday. I was not allowed to put my name on her reservation until after I checked out on Sunday. MS said that if the computer saw my name on two reservations at the same time (Saturday night), then one of my reservations would get cancelled. While I'm not sure if this is true, I didn't want to take a chance. On Sunday we went to the front desk and had my name added to her reservation after I checked out. Since the OP is registered at the AKV, I'm not sure how that would affect her if she also registers for the BCV. Just a thought.

Thank you everyone! That is what I thought. My parents are going to be watching my kids one day for me, so I guess they will need to do something else instead of swimming.

yep, it would be very complicated. enjoying the pools at kidani and jambo are probably the best option...

I don't think that's true, even though that's what they said. I know someone myself that just had 2 reservations at the same time (cash at a value and a DVC points reservation) so they could take advantage of free dining.

Agreed - even though you were told this I don't believe it is correct - at least if staying at different resorts. We were staying in a 1BR at AKV in May and my DSis, BIL and nephew were at SSR. I put DSis and nephew on our room at AKV without problem. I added them on after we checked in and they had arrived a day before us.

I have a similar thing happening in Nov without problem but already have the names on. MS just said the lead name on the ressie should be different.

OP - I'd have no worries about adding the names at BCV and using SAB. I'd do it at check-in. It's not difficult at all.

I too have done that one. I booked a room for one of my adult kids in my name for cash (value) and I stayed at a DVC room on points. I don't think the two databases are connected so I wasn't really worried about it. As for names on 2 DVC reservations at the same time, I don't know. I just didn't want to check in and find my reservation cancelled, so I didn't chance it. I agree, the same name as the lead on each for definitely be a problem. I guess I wasn't willing to find out if it was true or not.

I called MS today and I got a great cast member. I explained the situation and I told her that my parents will be watching my 2 children. She put me on hold and came back and told me that her supervisor added my 2 children to the reservation. They are on both without a problem. Thanks for all the help!

Great - that's a super outcome!

The bit about not being able to be registered at 2 resorts is absolutely not true. As recently as last weekend I was registered at both Jambo House concierge and BLT. So were 4 people I know who were there at the same time. I've also had my son registered in his own room & my room at the same resort - this is also happening again next weekend since I forgot he was listed as a guest in my room (saw that when I did online checkin yesterday). So, one has nothing to do with the other, regardless of what some uninformed cm might have thought & said. You'll be fine. :thumbsup2
