i am new to this site and i find it very informative i will have many questions, but for now i only have one or two.we are having a magical gathering in june six adults and four children.we have booked one two bdr villa and one studio.can someone tell me the best location to be as close as possible to sab.do 2bdr's and studios connect,if not can they be on the same floor.does first floor have any kind of view.thanks

I'll take a shot at answering some of your questions;)

do 2bdr's and studios connect,if not can they be on the same floor.

No, 2bdrms and studio's do not connect - you can request to have your 2bdrm on the same floor though as the studio you've also booked. Just remember that it will be a request, not a guarantee but generally they do try their best to honor requests.

does first floor have any kind of view

Sure - depending on which view you get, some 1st floor views will be better than others though. There are 3 views at BCV's - Epcot view,woods/courtyard view and quiet pool view. If you have the pool view you'll be looking at the pool even on the ground floor. If you have Epcot view and are on the 1st floor though, you're not likely to see too much of Epcot except what you can see over the trees I'd think - if you prefer Epcot view you may want to request an upper floor ::yes:: And woods/courtyard view will be just that no matter what floor I'd think -- I've only had Epcot view and pool view so far as I've only stayed at BCV's 3 times.

can someone tell me the best location to be as close as possible to sab.

Not sure if any particular villa is that much closer to SAB or not - the BCV's are in a bldng. in front of the BC so it's a little bit of a walk no matter where you end up but it's worth it for SAB:teeth:

HTH's and WELCOME TO THE DIS!

For what it's worth, it may be a mistake to specify both rooms that are close together AND a specific floor / view. If the room assignor cannot meet both of these requests, he/she will be left trying to determine which is most important to you. Sounds like that would be having the rooms close together.

Under those circumstances, personally I'd take my chances with the view / floor and make sure they know that having rooms close to one another is a priority.

The map at http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=257950 may be helpful.

I'm not sure if they recognize a request for a "courtyard" view, but if they do it would get closer to SAB than the other rooms. However there really is no good alternative to a hike through the lobby in your swimming suits, so shop accordingly.

Of course to be as close as possible to SAB, you should stay at the Beach Club proper. :teeth:

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INFO,ONE OTHER QUESTION,FROM YOUR RESPONSE IT SOUNDS LIKE WE ALWAYS HAVE TO GO THRU THE BC HOTEL TO USE THE SAB.IS THIS CORRECT?

You can go around the left side of BC instead but it's significantly longer than going through the lobby -- not worth the trouble. Trust me, everyone is used to us DVCers slapping our flops through the lobby. If you are modest or less-than-beautiful you can wear a coverup.

again thanks for all your help,i told you i will have a lot of questions,to request a area or room, should i contact the magical gathering person or go directly to the resort.is bcv valet parking only.the site with map and room info was excellent thanks again

Assuming that the room was booked using DVC points, any/all requests must be made through DVC Member Services. BCV does have self-parking as well as Valet. DVC members receive free valet parking with the presentation of a member ID card, although a tip is expected.

How did you book your room? - if you used your own DVC points, you will call MS. If you rented DVC points from a member, you will have to ask the member to call MS (and I'd recommend doing so with a smile in your voice and a big thank you and an understanding that you will not get mad at the member if you come back to rooms that didn't meet your requests - renting to a renter who makes all sorts of requests can be a little bit of a hassle). If you booked through CRO, call CRO - although supposedly members will get first choice of requests (don't know how true that is).

I'll agree with the very wise tjkraz, make ONE request - the one most important to you. Nothing like wanting your rooms close together and on the bottom floor, only to have them on other ends of the resort so that you could get ONE on the bottom floor. Requests are simply that - requests. And although they will do their best to meet them (honestly, sometimes I wonder how much of their best they try).....

I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP,I HAVE A LOT OF GOOD INFO.WE ARE RENTERS BUT THE THOUGHT HAS CROSSED MY MIND ABOUT BUYING INTO DVC,WITH EIGHTGRANDCHILDREN 7 UNDER FOUR.I WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO ALL OF THEM SEEING DISNEY. THANKS AGAIN

You're welcome and have a nice trip.:)

Just a quick FYI though, please do not type in all capital letters as it is considered shouting on the boards.

Thanks;)
