We were told the villas are on hold until the rates come out. We are not DVC members and would like a 2 bdrm. but we can even make a room only reserve. She said well it is early.I dont think so. So my ? has anyone else not DVC member been able to get room only ressie. in the villas for 2009 . Please let me know if you have I will call back if so. TIA

Usually the DVC villas are not loaded in the system early because DVC members have first dibs on them at 11 months out. They should be available to the general public seven months prior to check in.
SSR and OKW usually are loaded sooner though.
You'll just have to wait a while and keep checking. They'll turn up.

You might want to try renting points from a DVC member. There's a thread about the rental process here. I found it less expensive to rent points and DVC members can make a reservation for your now.

We were actually considering buying a DVC membership, but we've been so successful renting points, we're choosing that path.

Actually DVC usually doesn't release any rooms until about 6 months out and then it is VERY few. WDW only owns about 5% of all the rooms at any DVC resort, the rest is owned by the DVC owners. The 5% owned by WDW is usually used for room repair, etc, so all the DVC owned inventory is always available. DVC inventory is usually made available to the cash paying public through WDW, by members choosing to trade out their points, so if this doesn't happen, WDW will have to use their 5% ownership. At 7 months DVC opens the booking window at a particular resort to all DVC members, so they wouldn't release all available rooms for cash customers at this time, it is somewhat closer to actual check-in date. So, if you still want to pay cash to stay at a DVC, just be on the look out for availability, and it probably will be several months until you find anything.

I am a DVC owner and have been trying to get a cash ressie at a DVC resort for about a week now through member services. They keep telling me that the "rates haven't been loaded" or "dropped in":confused3 and to call back. So..I keep calling back. The impression that I am getting, is that the rates will be out in August. Good luck.

Well Im vacationing the first week of January so several months not good. I will just keep checking peridically. I know one time I booked BW villas because BCV was not available and just called back everyday and BCV was available. I am happy staying at either one. My preferenceis BCV.

The first week of Jan will be hard for you to get on cash. I believe it is completely booked by members on points. I tried to extend my dec vacation, and was told all resorts were sold out during that time period. Now this is with a point reservation......

That is so disappointing. We were really looking forward to a 2bdrm because my SIL and BIL are going with us. We may have to keep our ressie for Coronado and just be happy with that.

just keep on trying, you might get lucky with a cancellation, or they might release some of the rooms WDW owns..... I gave up, didn't want to do the wailist. DVC owners have the option waitlisting, if there is a cancelation.

They won't release any room not reserved on points (but available for a points reservation) until 60 days out to CRO and the general public. I would doubt that there would be anything to release at this time except for a day here or there. Definitely no full week.
