BCV August Availability

Hi!
We are hoping to do a Summer vacation at BCV in August of 2006. Just wondering what the availability might be at the end of August at 7 months. We are SSR owners and love our home but thought that we would try the Beach Club for SAB in the Summer with the kids. Just curious. I know that some times of the year are more difficult than others and was wondering if the last week or two in August would be one of them. We have only stayed at SSR and our trips have been in the slower months/seasons.

Please, no flames about being an SSR owner and wanting to stay at another resort. We love SSR but hope to try all of the DVC resorts eventually!

Have been trying to book August 9th - 18th in a studio at BCV for my son and his girlfriend - with no luck! They are now booked at OKW and on the waitlist for BCV. Maybe if you're looking to go later you might be luckier.

This is our first time staying at the villas(our first trip "home"). We booked BCV exactly at the 7th month mark for August 23-31 (a studio) with no problems. We own at OKW and only have 50 points at BCV. So, although I do not have much experience with this yet, this year was not a problem for us. I do believe you have a better chance at the end of August then other times during the summer because many schools go back mid August. You may want to book SSR at 11 months just to make sure you have a room, however, that may not be necessary.

Good Morning all!!
We too own @ SSR and last year had a great time in a 2BR on our first trip home.This year we did an add-on and we got extra points to use and the family asked to try AKL-C and BCV if it was avail.We got a 2Br 8/16-21 without a problem. I called and booked day-by-day just to be on the safe side.

My family wants to try all the resorts-next year DH said he wants to stay in OKW-but we love SSR and its closeness to DTD(my DS turns 21 in June) and its quiet,spacious,off the beaten path charm.We did not buy into SSR just to get into the system-we looked and researched prior to buying and fell in love with SSR before it was even built!!(OK- time to get off my soapbox now)I agree with the others and think that if you go after the 15th of August you should have no problem.

We are in the same exact situation as you! Own SSR, but wanted to stay at
BCV for SAB because we'll be visiting in August and spending ALOT of time at the pool. We are visiting August 7th to the 14th this year. I called at the end of February which would have been about 5 1/2 months out, and was told that there was a lot available. Since that time however, I have heard that things booked up quickly. Therefore, I would think that at 7 months you should be able to get the villa you'd like.

I got studio for the end of July at BCV at about 6 months. I have never had a problem getting anything under the 7 month mark. I got BWV studio at about 4 months out for May. I have Saratoga Springs for December ( I own there too). We may stay there or may try something new. It is a hard because we love SSR but want to try them all. I may call and ask for whatever else is available and that will make up my mind. I make myself . From my experience, as long as it isn't a major holiday, with a little flexibility it shouldn't be to hard.
