BCV and SSR Housekeeping nightmare

Has anyone ever had the sheets dirty at BCV? It was awful when I was just there and they said they probably forgot as they were rushing to get the room ready. Also there were hairs all over the bathroom. I could live with that but not the dirty sheets

Then at SSR we found garbage all around the bed skirts - i.e. lego blocks, plastic caps, money, kleenex etc.

The head maid said the girl probably forgot to check under the bed skirt. she says what they normally do is offer to reclean the room or give a free breakfast at Artist's Palette - What like this is a common occurance?

This is supposed to be Disney and a first class resort. I always check my sheets while I have heard others don't.

Has anyone had this problem?

On my trip to SSR we didn't have a single problem at all. Our room was excellent.

I haven't heard of housekeeping problems at SSR, just bus problems.

We have stayed at SSR twice and both rooms were very nice and clean. We have never had problems with housekeeping or the buses.

It's not great I agree, but it's human error fixable with a phone call.

Calling it a nightmare is a bit much drama though.

I've never thought of looking for money under the beds at SSR - thanks for the heads up! :teeth:

Yes, to the sheet problem. Sheets were not changed from the previous occupant at BCV.

It seems like lately we're hearing about this happening pretty regularly. This is quite disturbing.

What's even more disturbing is the thought of how many people did not have fresh sheets but slept in them because they didn't know they weren't fresh sheets. If there's no blatant stain, how do you tell?

Lots of people have been reporting this. They've really go to fix this.

We haven't had dirty sheets, at least I don't think we did, but we have had ripped sheets on more than one occasion.

Having had this happen to me once at another hotel...I always check for inappropriate wrinkling in the sheets. Freshly changed sheets should have straight creases in them from being folded at the laundry. Of course its possible in the offseason that the sheets were changed days ago so the main thing I look for is wrinkles and other evidence.

Just a thought, but many here will strip the bed as part of their departure routine. That definitely ensures that the next guest will definitely get clean linen. Maybe it's a practice we should all adopt.

We ourselves haven't been doing that, but think we will start. We do put all dishes in the dishwasher and start a cycle, put all trash in trash containers, and lump all the towels into a single pile.

I like your idea! We always leave our rooms clean (without scrubbing) but I never thought about stripping the beds.Sign me up! :flower:

Thanks for the suggestion, it is one that we will definitely adopt. Good thinking for a way to get around this problem.

We have been stripping the beds and leaving the pull out OPEN so that housekeeping knows to replace ALL bed linen.

We strip all the linens from the beds including mattress pads, and put them in a pile on the floor. We fold the blanket and spread and lay them on the bed with the pillows. We also gather up all towels and put them over the edge of the tub in each bathroom. I usually strip the pull out if it was used and put it back together. I put the dishes in the dishwasher, but I don't run it. When we have had full cleanings, I notice the housekeepers run the dishwasher even if the dishes in it are clean.

I always strip the bedding before we leave.I dont know what got me started doing it.But I know that if someone gets my room after I check out they will have clean sheets :teeth:

this is what we do --

I agree we should all do this :sunny:

We've done the bed stripping thing for quite a while.

We throw all the dirty towels in the tub. Throw our used soap in the trash and so forth.

Hopefully by us doing this we save the Mousekeepers a bit of time and this dirty sheet/room thing will happen less. Also gets the next occupant into the room sooner.

maybe we can start the "clean room pass" like the stroller and x-mas tree. That way we will know which rooms were properly "prepped" by thoughtful DVC members. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

BTW -we have seen it all too and not just sheets. "stuff" on towels too and then rehung. Oh yeah, and the extra blanket and sheet in the closet. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

.

Won't this delay all of us from getting rooms though. Now instead of just making up the bed with used sheets, they will have to pick them up off the floor, shake them out and put them back on the beds. :rotfl:

Before anyone has a heart attack, just kidding. ::yes::
