BCV and Illuminations

We are looking into the BCV for a stay next September and read somewhere that you can see the fireworks from Illuminations from some of the rooms at the BCVs. I have also read that there are Epcot views and Woods views that look toward World Showcase. My question is do you have to have an Epcot view to see the fireworks or can you see the fireworks from a Woods view also? If this question makes any sense, I would appreciate any help in this matter.

If you call MS and ask for an Epcot view, they will tell you that there is no such view available because of the construction at Epcot (Soarin' blocked a lot of the view). What you would want is a woods view or request no view and hope you get it. We didn't request any view for our June trip and got a very nice view on the 3rd floor (just past the elevator on the short hallway). With a nice view of the Illuminations fireworks (higher stuff, no lower stuff).

Same for us. We did not have any room requests (imagine that ) and we were given a room that had great views of Illuminations. We practically OD'd on them between the nightly ones and the surprise NYE test run a couple of years ago.

Soarin didn't really block anything but it did add a "backside view" of that attraction.

I have long suspected that you can no longer request "Epcot view" because many equate that with a view of Spaceship Earth. At any rate, I've found MS is very willing to work with you on requesting that side of the building however it is worded.

We've had villas on floors 2-5 of that side and all have afforded some view of Illuminations. There is one side of one wing that doesn't apparently.

But none will provide the same experience as in the park. But for me, that's A-OK. I love seeing bits and pieces of the fireworks and hearing the stirring music.

2nd floor so you can only see the high foreworks but to me thats still cool. Best balcony we have had yet. Also had 551 you can see alot of the show from this room but it is a long walk from the elevator to the room.

Because Illuminations happens low to the water for the most part, because of the curve of the canal and the buildings and landscaping between the Epcot resorts and Epcot, don't get your expectations up on any Illuminations view from the Epcot resorts. If you can do it, its much better to take the short walk into Epcot. If you get one and can see a few fireworks when you happen to be in your room, its a bonus.

One of the things that I don't like about watching Illuminations from even a room with a decent view is that the show's fireworks happen in, as I recall, three stages - but each stage is seperated by several minutes of script and the lighted ball - which you can't see.

Some of the strangest views allow a glimpse of fireworks - we had one of the close to the lobby ground floor standard view rooms last year and could see a few peek around the edge of the Boardwalk.
