Hello,
I will be staying in a 2 bedroom at BCV and had a question about the bathroom door locks in the Master Bedroom.

-Do the doors have locks, especially the bathroom door leading into the master bedroom?
There will be 5 of us and we all would like our privacy. Can you lock out others from the master bedroom or can they enter through the bathroom?

Thanks :goodvibes

Locks again, LOL! :rotfl:

Here's what we do in our family....when one of us is going into the bathroom, we say, "I'm going into the bathroom now - don't come in!" :lmao:

The people in our family know that any closed door - be it a bathroom, a bedroom, whatever - means that they knock and wait to be invited in. :confused3

I'm sorry - I do not know the mechanics or locations of the locks at this particular resort, however I'm sure someone will, as it is a very popular topic these days!

Enjoy your trip!

I looked at the floor plan in the member planner, the only way into the master bathroom is through the master bedroom. There is another bathroom in the living room area, plus one in the second bedroom. They all only have 1 entrance.

??? That's now how our BCV 2 BR was set up.

There's 1 bathroom in the 2nd bedroom - just like a normal studio would have a bathroom (tub/shower, toilet - sinks outside the toilet/shower area).

The other bathroom was a small closet with the toilet, with its own door (not sure about the lock either, but I think it had one). That room was accessible only from the larger part of the bathroom, that had the shower stall and a sink.

This shower/sink area had 2 entry doors, one to the part of the bathroom where the jacuzzi tub and larger vanity area, and the other entry door went to the hallway.

Then, there was a door from the master bedroom to the jacuzzi tub/vanity area.

I hope that's right - it's so hard to explain - I hate those bathroom set ups -- too many doors!

(I should add - we had a 2 BR dedicated, but it was one that is a little odd-shaped, from what I understand, but I think the bathroom setup would be the same - even a 1 BR has the same type of bathroom door situation in the ones we've stayed in).

The OP was asking about BCV, I think your answer was for BLT.
A 2 BR at BCV only has 2 bathrooms and you can access the shower/toilet area without going thru the Master BR. You can lock the door to the shower/toilet area and the door at the vanity tub area. You can control entrance to the vanity/tub area from the master BR. I believe the master BR door is also lockable.

The master bedroom door locks from the living room to the master bedroom.
There are two doors to the master bathroom...one from the master bedroom and one from the living room. Both doors lock from INSIDE the bathroom.

The only way to completely lock off the master bedroom would be to lock the master bedroom door and lock the door leading from the master bathroom to the living room. There's no way to lock someone out of the master bedroom FROM the master bathroom if they have access from the living room.

So, there will need to be an agreement about bathroom access from guests staying in the master bedroom and the living room area if they are sharing the master bathroom.

Gee, I hope this makes sense. Those doors can be confusing even when you are IN the villa!

You're right - sorry! I thought it said BLT.

We just got back from our stay at BVC in a two bedroom dedicated villa. The masterbathroom locks WERE an issue for us.

You can lock the shower area from the hallway and master bedroom door, so noone has access to that entire space. But,, if you dont lock the master bedroom, then someone can walk into the shower area because you cant lock that door that is inside the master bedroom (shower area has 2 doors, one in the hallway area by the washer/dryer and one from inside master bedroom.) It was the weirdest bathroom setup I have ever seen!

My 13 year old son managed to open the door while my 16 year old teen daughter was showering in the masterbath, and I am sure the screaming was heard at epcot!

Like other posters have said, either come up with a system to let people know that the master shower is being used, or lock up the entire masterbedroom area (which is a bit of a pain in the butt, because someone was always wanting to change, or watch tv, or get laundry from that room)

Other then the locking bathroom door issue, we absolutely loved our villa!!!! It was so nice to have so much room, and I cant believe how handy it was to have a washer/dryer in our villa. The kitchen had everything we needed, and th staff were absolutely wonderful (including the maintenance people who came to show me how to work the dvd player - how embarrassing!)
