BCV 1 bdrm room location is this possible?

We're staying at BCV in a 1 bdrm from Dec 10th-16th, our 1st trip there. Our original confirmation states that we've requested a non-smoking room, top floor room. From our recent stays at BWV & SSR, we've noticed that our DS does much better in a quieter room so we had asked both of those times to be farthest from the elevator as well. It worked out fine and he seemed much calmer & his meltdowns/autistic flares seemed much less both trips.

Is there such a thing as a quiet BCV area that is far from elevators and the main building but not close to the roads? The road noise wasn't perfect at SSR because we faced the roadway around the resort but it still worked out well.

I guess I don't to ask to be away from the elevator noise to find that we are close to lots of road noise. Does BCV have any of those special "corner" rooms like the ones at BWV?

Not ever having stayed at BWV, I can't compare. However, one person's "loud" road noise can be nothing to someone else.

I have stayed on the "road" side of BCV. Personally, I didn't find it too loud that my kids couldn't sleep and my DS is a light sleeper. I didn't really hear the road noise myself unless I was out on the balcony and a car drove by. But there are people who are more sensitive to noise than I am.

I think if a "quiet" location is your most urgent need, you should list that as your top request after your smoking preference and drop the top floor request. One of the quietest rooms we have had at BCV was a 1 BR on the first floor with a woods view. No road noise and no outside paths nearby for foot traffic.

I can also tell you we have stayed on the far end of the BCVs several times ~ the end nearest the parking lot ~ and have found that area to be very quiet in terms of traffic as well.

All this being said, I personally have found the insulation from road noise and people noise at the BCV to be very satisfactory. As I said, I have a DS who is a light sleeper and we have stayed in several different areas on several different floors at the BCV with no noise problem whatsoever.

Also, please understand that getting the "ideal" room is very rare. Someone would have to be checking out of that same room the same day you are checking in. The chances of something like that happening are very slim.

The CMs are very good at knowing where the "quiet" areas are.

We typically ask for top floor because DS is fairly sensitive to noise & while we do carry a white-noise machine with us he always notices room noise, above us, especially. Occasionally he will comment about room noise from side rooms, but it is also the hallway noise that tends to carry the loudest & awakens him usually every night. When we are farthest from the elevator & on a top floor he can go thru the night without being awakened--that I was what I was thinking it might accomplish in early December.

I saw a post, might have been awhile back, about road noise from someone who was looking for a specific BCV room number. I'm not hoping for that at all, and it seems, from your post, that the road noise wasn't bothersome at all.

Perhaps we need to be sure that the request for away from elevators gets added to the reservation and see what happens when we arrive.

I too would just ask for a quiet room and ask them to make a note of why you are asking for it. The CM who assigns will know much more about the units than any of us.

I didn't realize that about the top floor at all, thanks for mentioning it. I went ahead and called MS, the woman I spoke with was very helpful and said she had some specific wording to us to help the room assigner when the time comes.

We were in 533 during a trip in Jan 06 and it was the quietest room we have ever had at WDW. Yes, it was close to the elevator, but there was noise from the hallway 2 or 3 times the whole trip.
