Can someone tell me the difference in rooms from the BC std vs the BC villa studio? Is there pros or cons to either?
This would be a reg. booking nor through DVC.

We've done both and if it's just hubby and me we go for the Studio. I like the little kitchenette. If the kiddos come we prefer a regular room. The Studio gets very tight with the sleeper made out and the kids complain about the bed.

Hope this helps!

Jennifer

Studio will have one queen bed and one full sofa-bed. It will also have a small kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, coffemaker, and some dishes/silver.

The regular room will have two queen beds (possibly a day bed) and no kitchen facilities, but a small refrigerator and coffee maker.

BC std - should be 2 queen beds (sometimes with a day bed - sometimes not)
It is part of the beach club.

you might get a view of Epcot (higher floors). Now some std rooms did not have 2 queen beds - and I here (despite the front desk saying they aren't) they are still around. These have one queen bed. and a small love seat - that you can't sleep on - too small.

BCV - is in the DVC resort part - this is behind and to the side. You might get a pool view, parking lot, Epcot, woods or BC view.
this pool is the quiet pool that is part of this resort - not SALB.

a studio has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa - plus a kitchennett.

both BC and BCV should have a balcony.

here is information on BCV

The beds would be the thing for me. The BC should have two queens, maybe a day bed (but there are some BC rooms that have two DOUBLES !! - so be careful - I would hate that for the price of that room). The BCV would have one queen and one double sleeper sofa.

Some of the BC rooms only have standing balconies (no chairs because there isn't enough room for a chair). All BCV villas have at least a balcony with two chairs (some are wedge shaped and pretty big - they are randomly assigned).

Something also to consider, if the resort is full, they won't let BCV guests use Stormalong Bay (the main pool) - they will check room keys and issue wristbands.

What? I think you are greatly confused. Guests at BCV always have access to SAB. It's the members who are guests at other DVC resorts who cannot hop to SAB anytime.

They always check room IDs of guests using SAB. YC, BC and BCV guests always get to swim there.

No, I'm not. When I called yesterday to book my stay tomorrow - BCV and BWV were the same price - the CM reminded me of the policy - so I chose BWV. I recall there is also a written policy about this in villas, I think its in the information book, although it may be in fine print! :lmao:

Now maybe this is for those who are not DVC members, but book directly through Disney like me? I don't know that answer.

That being said, we were never "booted" from the pool. However, I wasn't going to take a chance this trip being Spring Break and so close to Easter and being so full.

No, you got a CM who totally misinformed you. BCV is part of the BC/YC Complex and guests there are entitled to use SAB. The only written part in the villas is that only DVC members staying at BCV can use that pool. Other DVC members staying at DVC resorts on points cannot pool hop to SAB. You missed out on BCV by talking to an incompetent CM. If you really want to stay there, call back and see if you can change. Tell the supervisor what bad information you were given by the other CM.
