Can anyone tell me is there still construction/refixing the place up at the beach club? I will be going there to stay in mid Jan. Thanks for any info.

I would like to know the answer to this also as I will be at the Beach Club in about one week. I believe there was a post about a week ago which indicated that renovations were occurring on the 2nd floor.

We were there a couple of weeks ago, room 1565 1st floor, right by the sand volleyball court looking out to the Boardwalk across the lake. The room above us was going through rehab. About 7:30am every morning we could hear drills and scraping. When we would return to our room at approximately 5pm for a break they would still be going at it until 5:30 or 6pm. Work does continue through the weekend! Somewhat annoying, but it didn't let my husband sleep in so we made it to the parks earlier than prior visits.
We could also smell paint and hear work going on up stairs above the reception area.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. Sounds like its still going on. I was hoping it would be over. I guess not. Any other information from anyone is appreciated.

I was told that the rehab will continue until at least March 2003 at the Beach Club.

does anyone know if Stormalong Bay is being rehabbed? Also, any recommendations on room requests within the next 2 weeks at the BC?

BC is at the top of my list for our next trip. About the construction above your room ~ I would have mentioned it to front desk. We went away last weekend to Niagara Falls. Our room was not to standards so I told front desk. We were moved to a wonderful two room suite with a fireplace for no extra cost. A few months ago, we went up north. The hotel staff was so terrible, I had to complain. We were given a free weekend. I don't yell and scream when I talk to front desk. I simply tell them the problem and they have always come thru. Maybe because I don't yell and scream. I hope the construction is done before our trip. S

Stormalong Bay did not have any maintenance going on while we were there. There were however some white boards up by it. The entire pool was open, and the kids were having a good time going down the big slide.

I figured if I complained about the room I would have ended up in a room next to loud kids. So I had to weigh my options, and it wasn't that unbearable. Besides it was our 10th anniversary and they had already given us a basket of goodies with balloons and a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie.

Now I'm planning my next manuver to talk my husband into going again!
