Thank you all for the replies! It's a great point about using Minni Vans to get to DHS early if we stay at POFQ. Going to discuss with my husband this weekend and make a final decision.
We weren’t that impressed with our stay at BC. The rooms are much nicer as is the pool, but being at POFQ you can use the amenities there and POR not to mention the boat ride to Disney Springs. So for $2300 in savings it would be a no brainer for us. Happy planning!
We have stayed at BC and FQ and call us crazy but we preferred FQ. For the small resort size, better quick service options, overall theme, and huge price savings, we would pick FQ every time.
BC is my family's favorite resort - but only because we outgrew POR. My 3 kids are all too big for the pull down bed now . It has our favorite pool bar, the pool itself is great for kids, and the POR food court (walking distance) is one of the best and made meals so easy! Don't forget that the for $2300, I would stay at FQ since you get access to two resorts. Plus with that much money saved, a few Uber or Lyft rides will fit nicely into the budget.
$2300 more for just a week For us, there is no deluxe that's worth that much more over a Mod, unless you really wanted to stay there and have no problems splurging for it
If you go with Pop Century or Arts of Animation, you could take the Skyliner to DHS and Epcot. I also was thinking of Caribbean Beach Resort with the Skyliner like the PP.
My favorite resorts are BC/YC because of the proximity to Epcot and HS and also the fantastic pool. I agree that dining options at BC/YC aren't great, but we usually get park hopper tickets so we can walk over to WS at Epcot for dinner. On the other hand, $2300 is a lot of money!
Just an update, with the "Sun and fun" promotion, we were able to change to Boardwalk Villa and save about $1300. Wasn't sure about staying in the Villas but the discount was good and we jumped on it.
