It seems like I saw an interesting drink with baileys, kaluha and bananas. I think it was a BBC. What does this stand for and where does one order this from? It sounds heavenly!

Thanks,
Cathy

I actually had one of these, but I am not 100% as to what was in it. It's been talked about a lot on these boards so I am sure someone will know if I don't get it right. I think it is Bailey's, bananas and cream. It was pretty good and I am sure you can get it anywhere. To me it was so rich, it was kind of like a dessert. I happened to get mine at Diversions. A drink I LOVED was the Miami Vice, it's a half strawberry daquari half pina colada. Yum!

yes that is what it is- It was yummy but very rich. Im partial to what we call here in south fla a Miami Vice- half frozen rum runner- half pina colada but they dont make frozen rum runners on the cruise which really surprised me.

I love BBC's. I am addicted. It stands for bananas, Baileys and cream. Our bartender put Kahlua in it also. Mmmmm, can't wait until August!

Those BBC's can be really addicting...enough that we've got two more cruises booked! I don't drink much, but when I do drink, I love Bailey's. And the addition of all the other stuff just made it wonderful!

Oh my gosh, that sounds good! ! ! I've been a Conch Cooler kind of girl, but I think I'm going to have to branch out on the next cruise! :worship: :drinking1

I first had a BBC at a Sandals resort in St Lucia. They told me it stands for Banana, Baileys, Coconut. I have figured out how to make it at home, and mine is pretty much identical to the Sandals one, but of course that may be different than the DCL one (there is no Kahlua). I use 1 banana, 1 1/2 cups of ice, approx. 3-4 oz of cream of coconut (not coconut milk), and 3-4 oz. of Baileys. This makes enough for 2 people.

I've found a few recipes. The one that comes closest to what I tasted on board is a scoop of ice cream, one banana, about a jigger and a half of Bailey's.

Some have Creme de Banana in them, but its very artificial tasting.

Wow, coconut milk sounds good too. We will have to try that. I like the one we had but that sounds just as yummy.

I wanted to try one of these on our cruise last month, but couldn't remember the name of it. I was asking waiters for a B&O. :sad2: So, I searched the boards and found it! Now, is this a frozen drink or served over ice. :confused3

Anyone know?? Hopefully frozen... :cloud9:

BBC is a very yummy drink..Baileys, Banana and Cream.

I had the "virgin" version of out last month, as I really liked it, but being pregnant...no baileys for me :goodvibes

It's a frozen drink. Like a thick shake. Definitely not a drink to have with dinner because of how filling it is. I think they use a whole banana in it. Yum!

Ooooooh. Mmmmmmm.. The BBC. How I love thee...

I'm not a huge drinker, but I probably had 2 of these a day on my cruise. Even DH, who is a solid, beer/Red Wine/Whiskey neat/gin martini man sucked several down. I guess they are sweet, but we found the konk coolers to be WAY sweeter. But it was filling. Which probably explains why we never once had lunch on board except for the Palo brunch. :drinking1 Hmmmm...come to think about it, we also took a nap every day btwn lunch and dinner. I'm starting to see the connection ;)

One interesting thing was that the generally when we ordered these they came in stemmed glasses. But when we ordered one by the adult pool, he put it in a big glass about the size of a beer pint. And he filled that sucker to the top...yet we were charged the same price. Maybe they were just out of the glasses for froo-froo drinks, but if they always do it that way, I know where I'll be ordering them from now on ;)
