BBB with own gown vs buy there

That's the dilemma we're facing. In the past, we've always brought DGD's own gown because we heard it's much cheaper. Also, we've heard that the selection at BBB is often limited. However, on our next trip, our BBB appointment isn't until afternoon in the MK. That would mean bringing the gown into the park and lugging it around while we do various attractions, as we're planning to do some before the BBB appointment. So which do we go for-saving money and knowing we have the gown requested, or go for convenience. I'm having a hard time deciding. Any input? Anyone out there who's bought the gown at BBB who can tell me about selection?

I would just pack it and take it. It really isn't worth the money to buy it there and there is no guarantee they will have the dress she wants.

How old is she? We can usually roll dds gowns up and get them into a large freezer ziploc bag (bonus that it keeps the sparkles contained!). She's only 5 though, i could imagine a dress for a 10 year old would be harder to squish down.

As a backup, you could always rent a locker for the dress. You won't have to lug it around and its only a couple dollars extra.

I would call and ask if you can drop it off when you arrive at the park for your appointment later in the day. Disney is generally very accommodating, and what's the worse they can say, no? It's worth a call!! Good luck!! princess:

Is there a reason she can't wear it all day? I'm honestly asking. :) Our DD did the BBB during our last trip, but it was at the BBB at Disney Springs. She just wore her dress to the appointment. This time she'll be going around noon at the MK. I was planning for her to just wear the costume all day. Is there a reason for waiting to change into it?

Actually, I never thought of that! Truthfully, would it look strange for her to be running around the MK in her dress, but no hair or make up stuff? Honestly, Grandma here doesn't know. Or the call to BBB is a good idea.

I was going to suggest renting a locker too. :) I also don't think it would look strange to wear a dress but no hair/make-up. Lots of girls wear princess dresses without all the glam. :) Have fun!

The park is FULL of little girls in princess costumes, most of whom haven't been to the boutique. Now you have me wondering if it would be fun to rent a locker and change into the costume at the boutique, though!

My daughter hasn't done BBB in a couple of years but still wears princess dresses to the park all day. She loves dressing as a different princess for each trip.

The more I think about it, the more I think the girls would love that. So that's what we'll do. Thanks everyone! So if you see 2 little girls dressed as Cinderella and Belle on October 25th, that's them. Of course, I'm sure they'll be the only little girls dressed like that in all the MK:)
