BBB - how strict on age?

OK, I understand what you're saying and yes, a 30 year old at BBB would be awkward. But 12 still seems like a fairly young cutoff. Something like 16 seems more reasonable to me, as I can still see 13 and 14 year olds legitimately wanting the BBB experience.

Yeah, it seems arbitrary, but it may have something to do with the cutoff age for costumes in the park. I cannot remember if that age is 10 or 12.

It also has to do with capacity. They have to cut it off somewhere so that the little girls, who the experience is tailored for, have a chance to get in. If the cutoff was 13 then 14 year olds would complain. Disney can't win.

I believe the price starts at $50 or $60 for hair and goes up to $90 for hair and make-up

I can see 30 and 40 year olds legitimately wanting the BBB experience. It makes complete sense, given that the need for a cut-off is understood, that the determining break is when one reaches the teens.

One of the reasons why they have the age restriction is because adults were booking all the appointments and target age girls were not getting in.

So CUTE! We won't do BBB ever but I would consider this if DD ever decides she's willing to sit still.

Thank you! I am biased but I think they are stinkin cute! These are the two little gils who live on my Steet. I have been caring for them since Nola, the oldest, was 7 weeks old. I knew that she would neve be able to tolerate her hair being pulled back because she cannot even stand a pony tail, so I looked to see if there were alternatives.

I thought that the younger one, Rylee would be all over the Princess thing, but it was Nola. Alice taught her to curtsy in the Classic Alice style, and that child curtseyed for every picture for the rest of the trip. LOL!

For those over 12, the Grand Floridian and Coronado Springs both have salons that will do updo/makeovers.

Thank you! I tried to post one of the two of them with Rapunzel but the file was too big. Once my DH found out their Mom agreed to join us he moved us from POFQ to the Grand so the girls first trip would be exta special. They were so darn cute the whole time, with the little one dancing in the "ballroom every night.

Thanks everyone for this tip. I had no idea Ivy Trellis existed. We took ours to BBB when they were 11. It started out fun, but turned out torturous. Their hair was very tight. My daughter on the autism spectrum made it about an hour before we took it all down. I was was surprised she lasted that long. Sister made it all day but geez, the glitter. We were brushing hair outside the hotel at midnight.

Our DDs actually LOVED BBB We thought they did a great job and the girls kept their hair fro a few days. It was not as tight as it looked, they just use a LOT of gel to get the slick back look. Plus, if you have the memory maker you get a free photo shoot at guest services in Disney Springs.

It still shouldn't be attempted because the cutoff is 12 (and on one's birthday, one has completed that many years on earth and is starting the next year)

My youngest is princess crazed and is well within the age for BBB. We've never done it because her older sisters are more into the pirate thing. But this looks lovely!

I would advise against this. Yes, your 13 year old neice would love to do the boutique but as an aunt, you would be asking her to lie about her age. And she's be doing that in front of her younger sister. Wile both of the girls would be happy, that's an unsettling thing to do. Think about how you would feel if your niece, in a few years, decided to do something else she wasn't supposed to do because of her age and it turned out to be illegal. Just something to thing about.

I do not know the young lady you are thinking of bringing, but my DGD is 14, and she would chew glass and die befor she went to BBB. I just suggest that you be sure that the young lady is doing this fo he, and not for you,
