Hi,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas for a dressy outfit for my daughter. She is not really interested in a princess dress, it will be hot and not really suitable to wear anywhere else without feeling a bit weird. :) So, I'm thinking it would be fun to find her a dressy outfit that could be worn again, something she would feel beautiful in but would be comfortable. I'm thinking maybe a sleeveless dress with shorts or capris. I'm hoping to find something on etsy maybe, but don't know how to begin. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

One of their packages comes with a t-shirt and tutu. Both are easily worn after you leave the park. Have extra meaning and memories.

My girls are still young enough that princess dresses are worn ally he time, but my oldest is bordering on leaving them behind. She seriously considered this option this year, but opted for the princess dress instead. :cheer2:

Google has pictures of previous t-shirts and tutus so you can get an idea of what they look like.

We've done BBB at age 9 and 10. At 9 we had CRT after so we did a dressy look. This dress is from eBay. Doing a search for flower girl or junior Bridesmaid dress on there is how I find gowns. I search by color. This was at the end of June, but she didn't have it on all day. Her appointment was at 4, plus we had a storm that week. She has on a camisol and shorts underneath, but the dress was soft. She kept the shorts on the make changing easier.

At 10 we didn't have CRT, so we went with more a fun look. Does your dd like pettiskirts or twirl skirts? My 10 year-old loves them with a passion. She'll be 11 in a couple of weeks, but have loved them since 9 or so.

Here's what we did for BBB at age 10. Tank top was from Wal-Mart. You can kind of see the sparkles on it. Skirt was from eBay, shoes were from Payless, Vest I got online I can't recall where now. Accessories were from a store in the mall that sold them for very little. Earrings are Disney sticker earrings. She's wearing biker shorts under the skirt. I thought she might choose a different hairstyle, but she loves that bun. This was in June.

Next month I'm again going with a long gown because I booked CRT again. It's lilac. Hopefully the link works for you.

I also considered a knee length dress I found there that was more like a party dress. But she's already told me she prefers full length for CRT. I was thinking of maybe getting it for after she changes, but I'll probably just go with a princess t-shirt.

Thanks for the links and pics luvmy2babies - your daughter and the outfits are beautiful! :goodvibes I don't think my daughter will like the tutu and t-shirt option. She has never done BBB, we've only been to WDW once -for her brothers wish trip. She doesn't know she has an appt., when we talk Disney "dream days" she always includes it, but assumes it's so expensive we'd never do it. We are going to tell her on her birthday in June - it's her present :thumbsup2 I thought it would be a good idea to have some options to expedite her search for an outfit once she knows about it. I made the appt. for 3:30pm and we will just be touring the park after. How are the long dresses on the rides? luvmy2babies was the long dress crazy hot or did she change out of it after the meal?

Thanks again for the help! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hello,

Thank you. Unfortunately, I can't help you on how hot the dress was. We had a bad tropical storm during our trip. It didn't stop me from taking her to the appointment but all of the rain really tamed the temperatures. It wasn't cold at all. Still quite warm, but I'm sure we didn't get a real feel for what the normal temps would have been. In fact the day after the storm left (we had it 4 days) the heat behind it really zapped us.

Her appointment was at 4 and our meal was at 6:40. After her appointment we did the photo session in the princess store across from the castle which was where those photos were taken. We hung out in the store for a while due to the rain. Then we went on 2 rides and saw a show because it was our last MK day and it didn't bother her. It was ankle length and the only time she had to hold it up was going up steps and stepping down into the boat on Small World. After the meal, it was around 8 so we only went to Town Square Theatre before leaving the park. Belle was at CRT then, but was ill and didn't get to our table so we went there to see her and Rapunzel.

The shoes in the first photo didn't bother her either. The shoes in the 2nd photo though...off as soon as the photo session was over. She put her flip flops back on to tour.

This year her appointment is at 9:55am. We have a CRT lunch at 1:00 and a fast pass to the princess M&G from 2:30 to 3:30. Her dress is lilac so I scheduled Rapunzel. Pretty sure she will want out of it after that, so I'm getting her a personalized princess t-shirt or tank top to wear over a camisol.
